Can someone make polymer work?
The closest I came was welp, polymer, refind.
I had no better luck with polynome, either.
POLYMER–REFINERY was as close as I came
Official. Not much wiggle room with this one, methinks.
Official. Couldnt get MONOPOLY to work.
Official.
Official here as well. I think DW is right and Mark has identified the possible solutions. I tried polymer as well to no avail. Someone prove me wrong!!!
wildfire – eponym
Official here as well, along with an unsexy collection of words processed; DRY, FORE, FILM(ER), WIRE, FROM, WINE(RY), MONEY, WIFELY, (RE)FIND, (RE)MIND, (RE)WIND, -PYRINE, LIFE & the constituent parts of WILDFIRE floating about till they finally merged.
Sota, am I correct that a familiarity with Greek helps with today”s solution as well?
It often does, although I could have easily hit a brick wall with, say, the equally Greek POLYMER. EPONYM actually followed rather consequentially after first locating the WILDFIRE (boom-boom), but it’s true, e.g., that I had been keeping an eye out for -ONYMS all along.
Wildlife and monopoly were the only other promising leads. Official for me as well.
Official
Official here as well, to my surprise – it feels like a stretch. I’m not seeing any alternatives from the mavens, so Wildfire Eponym may be the sole 2-worder…
A few finds along the way: Frenemy(!), Yelper, Winery, Finery, Dominion, Pondlife.
