fjord – demonization
Stumped again, JAM MAZA AFOREMENTIONED was my closest, 3 words. I had to look up MAZA online, it’s not in my Dictionary. Aforementioned used all but J and Z but I couldn’t join it for a 2 word answer.
Now that’s kinda strange; first you submitted the DEMONETIZED variant, & three hours later you confess having been stumped? How does that work? Besides, I don’t even recall you ever having been stumped -to have now been stumped again. Unless it’s the other DW -now also using your avatar- playing tricks.
So I can reliably assume this was anyone but DW, given BERNIE HOROWITZ’s desperate reporting -I was still able to detect Bernie’s writing style, even though their initial message was posted under a random moniker ERICA. This website has become an absolute mess, and I have to wonder what name this particular message is going to be posted under -to avoid further confusion, I’m signing off as Sota21.
Yes, Erica was my uninvited guest as well. The site does get glitchy from time to time; I’ve often wondered who hosts it.
To clear that up, The NYT has nothing to do with this site. The fact that it publicizes what is only revealed as the official solution the following day, makes DW’s theory that it’s actually run by the puzzle’s creators themselves all the more plausible.
It’s always been clear that it’s not officially NYT sponsored. That it might be from the puzzle creators is an interesting idea.

I completely missed Fjord, so it was all downhill from there. Settled for Fiefdom Majorization, which I suppose reverberates at least a little thematically. I got a kick out of Fiefdom, so I stuck with it, but it didn’t leave much wiggle room for pairing… Tried to make something of Majordomo, Marjoram, Dramatization – no go. Sigh.
I tried to make Dramatization work as well but couldn’t :’)
