Official here, again. I decided on -from here on in- presenting my log of words processed by order of occurrence, when possible (which makes more sense about illustrating my thought process). In replying to STEPH yesterday, I stated that EPONYM had come as a follow-up only after working out WILDFIRE, whereas a more accurate recollection later suggested that I had already spotted and shelved it until I was able to implement it. So today’s sequence did actually go ENVOY, THICKHEAD, ACIDHEAD, HEADY, ETHIC, INVOICE, VOICED, THANK, THINK, -THETIC, and EVICTION, right before spotting HACKNEYED (& DIVOT in short order).

Took me two hours of messing around with “yeah heaty initiative dye devotion donation incitation denotation tiny toy aide hence hacky atoned acetone city node hated yeti tactic vita anyone deck tenacity deny hive decade decadence eviction invitation acid tank thank think nicky” to end up with “DEVOTION-NICKY-YEAH”. What a wonderful waste of time …

Didn’t take too long to find what I correctly assumed would be the official answer. I’ll be interested to see if anyone can find a 2-worder without Hackneyed in it.
