      Same DUMPER – RAINBOW after playing with EMPOWER(ED), BRAIN and DUMB(ER) without seeing OA(!), WINDOW, DRAIN, getting stalled on DOWNPOUR and REMEMBER(ED)/MEMORANDUM type words!

      DUMPER-RAINBOW for me too. It’s raining here so I found DOWNPOUR right away but couldn’t pair it. Also saw REDBEARD, DREAM, and PROUD, then continuing with the rain theme spotted the more optimistic RAINBOW and quickly got the answer.

        So many good answers. I settled for Rumbaed — Downpipe
        I looked up Rumbaed. It is a ballroom dance based on the Cuban folk dance, according to the definition I found.
        I wanted to find a word to go with Womanpower but did not think of Rainbound.

        When I found MANPOWER, I found WOMANPOWER. The first thought that sprung to mind was RIBAUD, which I weirdly heard twice this week, once on Miss Austen and once on Carême. Alas, the I was on the same side as the R and there were no other existing words that’d use the remaing B, I, D, and U.

        By the way, Wictionary isn’t a reliable source for words because anybody can add whatever nonword they want to it, and people do so all the time, like students who’ve gotten marked down for using a nonword trying to prove to a teacher or professor that it really is a word to get those points back, so it is chock-full of nonwords. If Wictionary is the only dictionary you can find it in, then it’s not really a word.

      That is the most annoying feature of this site! (That and not being able to edit or even delete comments.) I have to be very careful not to see today’s answers if I am checking yesterday’s. Why not just hide the answers behind a link like they do for all the previous ones?

      In fact today I accidentally spotted the OA before doing the puzzle and decided to try it anyway and look for my own answer, which I did end up finding.

      I got RAINBOWED – DUMP
      which i guess is what you see at the landfill after it rains 🌈 not exactly a pretty picture! I do love the image of WINDPOWER – RUMBA. I imagined it was the robot vacuum which does not need electricity, but it is the wrong spelling. The dance is fun too though!
