  1. DOGMATIC-CHARBROIL after initially trying DOGMATICAL to get as many letters in as possible. About 12-13 minutes, after trying CHROMATIC and TAMAGOTCHI as well and not being able to run anything with BOARD. Then did CHARBROIL and kicked myself as I saw DOGMATIC immediately.

    Kanishk and RF, see you soon, my lovelies, with your solutions.

    Good luck, everyone, and happy Tuesday!

    1. OA here as well after 45 minutes. Well done, Irim! I’ve never heard of TAMAGOTCHI before – very interesting!

      Very frustrating array today – I came up with two one-offs before finding the OA (BIRDBATH – HOROLOGIC and DHARMA – ABIOLOGIC). Also thought MICROLIGHT or RHOMBICAL would help me find a valid solution.

      Hoping to see RF soon! Good luck to everyone.

        Failed!!! Came back to DOGMATIC(AL) a few times but I don’t know what a CHARBROIL is. Gave up after almost 2 hours. Really thought there’s a -LIGHT or LIGHT- in there.

        Well done my besties. 👍

        1. Kanishk, some great options there, shame about the one letter hanging out.

          Oh RF, I’m so sorry – tomorrow, we’ve got this!

        2. Catherine Gardiner

          Hi RF. Charbroiling meat or vegetables requires a barbecue. Most people have gas or propane barbecues. The barbecue purists use charcoal barbecues.

        3. Charbroil is a method of cooking, most famously highlighted in the US in Burger King commercials as they have always toured their burgers are charbroiled (cooked over a flame) as opposed to a griddle. Took me quite awhile to hit the OA and pretty sure I never would have if not for those BK commercials. First double digit streak in awhile. 120/132, 11/12, 10, 36

        Thanks Kanishk! Showing your (young) age not knowing Tamagotchi. By the way with microlight you could have had tabard

        1. Another word I haven’t heard of before, but I probably could have gotten it if I had played around with it a bit longer. Thanks for the trivia!

  2. DOGMATIC-CHARBROIL…
    1. Thou shalt not question the grill master.
    2. Though shalt eat what thine are given and like it.
    3. Though shalt not bring KFC to the potluck for it will cause discontent amongst thy children.
    4. Food allergies are anathema.
    5. Though shalt not covet thy neighbors basting brush.
    6. Though shalt never flip another chefs meat!
    7. Though shalt melt the cheese completely.
    8. A spatula is not for spanking.
    9. Though shalt not touch the sacred brazier for it will burn thee.
    10. Thou shalt always kiss the chef.

  3. OA pretty quickly. But lots of fun options not LB accepted.

    BICHORD* DOGMATICAL
    *OED, MW

    BALDRIC CHROMATOLOGICAL*
    * Roget’s Thesaurus

    RHABDOMAL* LITHOLOGIC
    *”An Illustrated Dictionary of Medicine, Biology and Allied Sciences”

  4. Fav solutions:
    RHABD—DOGMATICAL
    MICROLITH—HARDBAG
    MICROLIGHT—TABARD
    DOGMATIC—CHARBROIL
    GIRLDOM—MICROHABITAT
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Half-solutions:
    BITCHBAGʷ—GIRLDOM
    HOMOLOGICʷ—CATBIRD
    BIOLOGIC—CHORDOMATAʷ
    CHORDOMATAʷ—ABIOLOGIC
    BITCHDOMʷ—MICROLOGICAL
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    ʷ Wiktionary
    Fun array today!

    1. Even though I know ‘HOMOLOGIC’ isn’t a valid word accepted in most dictionaries, I was still disappointed when it wasn’t accepted, because I would have got an immediate solve if it was (BIRDBATH – HOMOLOGIC)

      What I said before about disliking pseudo-answers doesn’t really apply anymore. At this point, I think Sam’s LB word list is so arbitrary that there’s no clear boundary between what counts as a “valid” word and what doesn’t.

      That said, I genuinely love your half-solutions, Mark – please keep posting them! They make the game way more fun, especially on singular-OA days 😉
