  1. OA immediately – the joy of the Winter Olympics.

Looking forward to seeing my besties, Kanishk and RF, here soon with their solutions!

All the best, everyone, and happy Monday!

    1. Congrats on the fast solve, Irim! I got the OA in about 13, instantly after spotting the -FUL. Before that, I’d only played around with TENFOLD, and I was gutted that I couldn’t use SFORZANDO because there was no A in the grid.

Just checked Alice Liang’s solver, and it looks singular.

Waiting for RF to complete the triumvirate!

OA too in 5 minutes. But, I just invented LUTZES and was so surprised it was accepted. And just like that, the triumvirate is complete. Yay!!!

          1. Took me longer than it should have to spot LUTZES. Had gotten hung up on FUTZES/FUTZED. Still took awhile even after seeing WONDERFUL. But done, so all’s well… 119/131, 10/11, 9, 36

  2. suspected singular solution:
    WONDERFUL—LUTZES

      Heder and Ferrell were putzes
Who both played a couple of klutzes
In the film “Blades of Glory”,
      an ice skating story,
Where they pulled off some WONDERFUL LUTZES.

I’m reminded that Purina at one time inexplicably made a type of pet food whose only target market was actors with the last name “Mineo”. It was called Sal Chow.

  3. OA. Got wonderful early then tried zestful undertows zeroed and others before thinking to try Yiddish sounding words. I’d forgotten that it was a figure skating term

  4. Catherine Gardiner

    OA today!
I can thank my mother for all those years of figure skating lessons…not that I was any good.
My initial word was Zestful which I saw immediately but, alas, there was no partner for this lovely word.
