      1. Ha, good to see you here – despite living in the UK, didn’t realise RAWK was also Yorkshire dialect, so glad to pick it up. GROUNDCOVER-REWAKE here.

        Well done, my lovelies!

          1. Groundcover-Rewake here as well. I spent a ludicrous amount of time on this one. Was close to it all day between overworked, (unfortunately Guanaco was a new one for me) , groundwork, workaround, underground, undercover, and finally three groundcover in there out of desperation, and sure enough.. 61/63, 4/4, 35

      UNCONVERGED—DARKWAVE
      WORKAROUND—DECONVERGENCE

  1. GROUNDCOVER – REWAKE

It didn’t even occur to me that RAWK was a word, but glad to add that dialect to my vocab! Oof, with EA, CK, OA, RD on the same sides, I was worried it would take hours – but about 25 minutes here.

Awaiting your triumphs, Kanishk and RF – hope to see you soon!

  2. Samuel Hanwich

GROUNDCOVER RAWK here too. OA seems like another silly attempt to go for the obscure for its own sake. (So do most of the alternatives so far today though, including mine.) Can’t help noticing what somebody had posted a little while ago, that they noticed how lots of arcane singular solutions seemed to be showing up on Wednesdays.

    1. That does seem to be the case, Samuel. My curse of losing my streak on Wednesdays seems to be back. I spent HOURS on today’s with no success. Lots of great compound words. But no solution.

I honestly don’t care about maintaining a streak anymore. If this is what this has come to, I’m afraid I won’t be playing the game any longer – ‘Guanaco’, seriously? Who even thinks of that? Hours and hours wasted each day just to solve a single puzzle. Sam is doing a great job keeping the puzzles as frustrating as possible.

  3. GROUNDCOVER RAWK as well.

  4. Breaking old ground here… 🙂
    GROUNDWORKER* RECAVE**
    * OED includes “groundwork” and Groundworker is considered a derivative. See GoGround.org “A groundworker is a construction professional who prepares the ground before, during and after building.”
**Recave is an early spelling of Receive. Cited in OED. “Godfrey of Bulloigne.”

“The Christian’s doom in this direful news recave… The trump of death sounds in their hearing shrill.” Rather timely, no?

  5. Wasn’t familiar with the word GUANACO (looked it up – it’s a South American camelid). But the game disallowed both OVERCRANKED and UNDERCRANKED, which I am familiar with.
