  1. OA in 5 minutes – would have been earlier, but I kept pushing away my intuition that CAFETERIA was it, thinking it had too many repeating letters. Finally used it and kicked myself. Beautifully efficient!

Hope to see my besties, Kanishk and RF soon – good luck to all attempting and congrats to all who solve. Happy Monday, everyone!

    1. Same here, Irim, OA in 21 minutes. Found some amazing words that led me nowhere – RHINOCEROT, INFOTECH, WATERCRAFT to name a few.

Came up with ANYHOW and I knew it must be part of the solution as it effectively buried the Y. When I failed to connect the W, I worked backwards – CIT was infuriating as TRIFECTA wasn’t possible. Shortly after I found CAFETERIA (I somehow forgot the spelling – was entering CAFETARIA at first!)

Good job, Irim, and hoping to see my other bestie, RF soon. Congrats to those who have solved and good luck to those attempting. Happy Monday!

      1. RHINOCEROT is a great word; hadn’t realised it was an alternative for rhinoceros! CIT was an absolute nightmare; EHN was also a pain in my backside, and no FR options, but still, it’s not PANJANDRUM.

Nice work, hon, and here’s to seeing RF soon. Have a great one!

      Likewise. Took me 49 minutes.

      ……………..

      Well done, my besties! 🤗

      1. Well done, my lovely – and RF & BSJ, that’s a fabulous solution. Great words. *hugs* and happy Monday afternoon/evening (I think?)

        1. Radioactive Flower

Hahaha! That’s my name! I’m amazed that it fits into a letterboxed. 👍👏

And, I know just now! 😅

          1. I was surprised too, RF! I noticed that the first and last letters of your username were the same – and I thought, “What are the chances that your name contains exactly 12 distinct letters?”

It also helps there are no consecutive repeating letters!

  2. CHIEFTAIN – NOTEWORTHY here.

Repeating my trivia question from yesterday. What two words in three Scrabble dictionary have never once been played in a Scrabble game?

    1. OXYPHENBUTAZONE is supposedly one, because it takes two players cooperating to set it up. How would they know if a word has never been played, though? When I used to play with friends we would frequently set up the board to leave possibilities for longer words. If we were aware of a challenge like that, I’m sure we would have tried for it. I’d think that with all the people in the world playing Scrabble, somebody would have gotten it (if that’s even the word you meant). There are at least two, though? What’s the other one?

      1. I was thinking of PIZZAZZ and RAZZMATAZZ. There is no way to engineer four Zs. It does make me wonder why they are even in the Scrabble dictionary.

  3. Took forever, didn’t see cafeteria. Tried infancy inferior hierarchy tetrarchy anyhow twofer chancery towery refinance firewater rainwater recreate forewarn trochanter chorion whatnot watercraft anyhow iron ware contrary contrarian rotators careworn conifer chariot and more
