Well done, love, and so glad you got here before me!! It took me over an hour to get HAMLET-TURFING. I was so obsessed with things like FULMINATE, FATHERING, anything with a GH, AI, AR: TRIANGULATE, FIRELIGHT, FRAGMENT, and was gutted about FARTHINGALE, FULMINATE that I was blinded to what I could have. ENGULF/ING didn’t work, INFLAMING/INFLAMER. Didn’t even SEE AFTERMATH.
IAR, NT, FUM (so things like ARGENTUM weren’t an option) was a nightmare for me.
Finally got to RETURFING, then thought, eh, is that E really worth it, let’s try TURFING, and got HAMLET.
I’m sure other arrays this week were tougher, but this was almost my Waterloo. Glad to get there with an efficient OA in the end.

Haha, I don’t think Sam is gonna allow the three of us being triumphant this week! When RF fails, I succeed, and today, it’s the other way round – spent almost an HOUR trying to make HALFTIME work, I was so sure it would get me somewhere but alas, no – Alice Liang’s does list HALFTIME – ENURNING as a valid solve, which I completely missed.
Also tried pairing HIFALUTIN, GREMLIN, FLAGMEN and LIFETIME among many. Missed TURFING completely, and AFTERMATH too (can’t believe I didn’t see that!).
Kudos to you both, Irim and RF, here’s to giving our very best tomorrow, no matter how fiendish the grid, and emerging victorious, together!
Another one that took forever, that probably should not have. Eventually came up with Aftermath-Hauling. Had hamlet very early but never saw Turfing.
