  1. Touche. I didn’t see BIOSAFETY despite looking for something with BIO and SAFETY. Got FURBISHES-STATUTORY instead

  2. Foreshores, feathers, fisheries, feathery,
    buries, shuteye, hearsay, youth,
bathers, bureau, hubris, satisfy, estuary & a partridge in a pair tree. There’s spending time on it and knowing when to stop. 🙂
    Nope. The OA eluded me.

  3. I’ve spent too much time on this.
Furbisher and Foister are words found in most common dictionaries, but LB being ever contrary will not accept them.
So my answers are FURBISHER ROASTY and FOISTER RHUBARBY,
and that’s good enough for me !

    1. Yes, I can sympathize.
I want to live in a world where more people say RHUBARBY.
It doesn’t even have to be in English. It could pop up in any other language and mean something else entirely (different part of speech, etc.).
Will try to work it into casual conversation with my teenage daughter . . .
      wish me luck

        1. Ah, you are 100% correct! We’re just that much closer to making the word something you’ll encounter more Rhutinely.

  4. After spending forever on (RE)FURBISH(ES), HEARSAY, HUBRIS, RAYFISH, SAFETY, TOASTY, HERSTORY(!), and HORSEFEATHERS(!!!) I finally gave up — and the OA has me regretting all the time I devoted today. Happy to see others found alternate solutions. Good job, folks. 🙇‍♂️

    1. I was also amused by HERSTORY being accepted, I gave up after BARISTA BRASHER BURSTERS FATHERS FUBAR HERSTORY REFUTES THRASHES TOURISTY

    1. Bernie Horowitz

Wasn’t Fisher one of the Biloxi Rubythroats from that Flannery O’Conner story? Bicker Runflat’s unsavory cousin?

I’m sure they’d snack on one if they get the chance!
Fisher Cats (as they are known locally), though seldom seen, are common here in Maine, even in urban areas, and routinely prey on cats and small dogs unwisely let outside unchaperoned… Hey, a Fisher’s gotta eat!
