    1. Sangfroid is an excellent find. And there’re so many ways TI options.

Giving nothing away during game play.
I don’t care if the channel is shallow, I’m bringing this boat through!
Drinking ale in slightly bored fashion.

  1. RANDO – OUTFIGHTS … Fight Club
FROND – DISTRAUGHT … Fern Gully
AFRAID – DOUGHNUTS … Full Metal Jacket

  2. The reason I wouldn’t go to a museum dedicated Bagels and Doughnuts is because I’m afraid it would just be a torus trap.

  3. TROUGH-HANDFISH.
(Appropriately the handfish belongs to the Brachionichthyidae family which would be a candidate for a Letter Boxed one-word answer game were it not capitalized.)

    1. My son wrote a script showing words with 12 unique letters. Does anyone know why so many fish families made the list? I never studied latin but I guess just a function of long words.

  4. GRIFT—THOUSAND
A certain political figure comes to mind.

    FIRSTHAND—DOUGH
    theme needed

    DOGFIGHT—TUNDRAS
    WWII pilots over the arctic.

  5. FRIGHTS – STANDOUT was my first solution, but I toyed around a bit and found GROUNDFISH – HAT, 13/2. The puzzle did not accept GROUNDFISH, but it’s a PSW, so ptttththt!

As is becoming my norm, birds later if I have the time.

  6. Nothing original here but keeping thematic with yesterday i offer this connected haiku:
    GROUNDHOGS SIFTS SAND

DRIFTS STARS: SUNDOG: GODS STRONG GIFT

    THOUGHT TRANSISTORS START

  7. (The goal was to use all letters in every line
but I may have lost track)

    GODS THOUSAND RIFTS

    A fun dog’s thirst
    Or fronds distraught,
    No ghost unfair’d
    In tundras fraught.
    Sangfroid’s grift
    Is firsthand drought,
    Ghosts unafraid
    Hear sandfish shout.

    In the sand, starfish aground
    In the earth, groundhogs astound.
In the tundra, round and round,

    Nothing surfs and nothing drifts.
    Trogons sing, our fairground shifts
In and through god’s thousand rifts.

    (ruhsoftindag)

    1. Oops failed to meet the objective. I offer this as my mea culpa:
      Frigid doughnuts sang
Grand dish hot trash hangs stung
      Grift though hard doughnuts

  8. TROUGHS SANDFISH.

There should be a slang word for a solution when you’re guessing at what you think might be a word (I have never heard of a sandfish or a handfish)

    1. Love this! To me, the beautiful thing about this solution is that both words are animals. I’d been thinking about—and halfheartedly—trying to solve the LB with words from recognizable categories (like DW solving by only using bird names), but not being as concerned with doing so with only two words. This one ticks the category box, but also does so in just two words! Very cool.

      1. I know you might not see this but this absolutely made my day!! I think you should absolutely go for it and I might join you on it as well!!
