OAā¦and almost immediately too! š
Happy birthday to me! š„³
OA quick for me too, on your birthday. Happy Birthday!
Me too.
Happy Birthday to you!
Happy Birthday, CR! š„³
OA as well
Ditto, happy birthday! š
Should have noted that I started with JACKALS first, and saw DISTURB in the leftovers. Seemed too perfect to be a coincidence, so I switched to working off of DISTURB, and BLACKJACK came quickly after.
Thanks for the birthday greetings, everyone! š¤
ADJUSTS / SLAB / BRICK
ADJUSTS SLURBS SICK!
ADJUST/TRICKS/SLAB
Me too. How theses geniuses who say, āOA and almost immediatelyā do it is beyond me. Haha.
LABRUSCA ADJUSTS SICK
Those adjusted grapes made me sick. (Feeling dopey today)
CAD / DISTURB / BLACKJACK
JABS / SKIRTS / SUICIDAL
OA.
I really didn’t think B is the linker. Found BLACKJACKS and then fixated of an S-word to pair it which I failed to find from the leftovers. I never really bothered to look for a word that ends in B. And so I moved on…
After 15 minutes, I found DISTURB. And, I realized it is composed of the leftovers of BLACKJACK.
I literally went full circle with this letterboxed.
Found BLACKJACK(S) first, too. Managed to follow it with SUBDISTRICTāa PSW but not accepted by LB. Often, I’ll call it a day (and a ‘W’), but since it’s the weekend, I figured I’d go again. Then, I found DISTURB fairly quickly.
For me, the key was with the J. It had to be followed by a vowel (in this puzzle, only A and U are candidates), so I worked from there.
Similar path to OA, spending too long trying to link plurals like JACKALS-SUBCRITICAL (no D)
Enjoy your Bday, CR!
Me too.
Jackals staid (for the d) disturb)
OA, reasonably quickly. An Oceans Eleven scenario, methinks.
Shall I go out on a limb and predict itās the only two-word answer? I shall, but doubtless Iāll be proven wrong againā¦
I think you’re right Bernie. If we go “off the limb” this one is noteworthy:
JACKALS—SUBDISTRICT*
ā
Ah, yes. Here’s SUBDISTRICT.
I really need to read through the whole page before I post. Especially since I don’t get started until so late in the day!
I ran the sotware and found just these:
1 – 16 disturb / blackjack
2 – 17 disturb / blackjacks
There’s sone scrabble words. I’ll post them tonight
JACKALS STAID DRUB

Immediate oa for me today. Luckily, I did not add the s to black jack and instantly saw disturb.
Like many of you, a relatively fast OA. I locked onto BLACKJACK first, then realized it had to come second.
Found BLACKJACKS first and quickly. Then went down the JACKALS tunnel….. Like others, circled back to BLACKJACK and finally saw DISTURB for the OA. Adding SUBDISTRICTS to the new word list…..
OA about as fast as it takes me to lose my stake at the Blackjack table!
I settled for JACKALS – SUBDISTRICT, no time to look for a legal two worder.
Found BLACKJACK. Found JACKAL. The end.
I would ADJUST-TRIBAL-LACK, but y’all are doing splendidly, as usual.
Judy, I was the same. Found BLACKJACK, found TURBID. Couldnāt join them. Canāt believe I missed DISTURB!! š¤¦š½āāļø
OA Blackjack first then disturb
OA disturb-blackjack, but I was hoping to be able to use lackadaisical!!
Nice!š
Found: BLACKJACKS / SUBDISTRICT*
OA ā but only after trying on words like absurdist, lackadaisical, jackals, bruja, backstab ā because they were more interesting.
Started with Juristical which is in many dictionaries, even Wikipedia, but it was not accepted by Sam. So didn’t continue.
OA, yay!!
oa
Happy Birthday CR!
Here is the full list including Scrabble words:
** Donāt look at the list if you havenāt finished solving the puzzle **
(The first number is a count and the second number is the number of letters used)
1 – 16 disturb / blackjack
2 – 17 disturb / blackjacks
3 – 22 blackjacks / subdistrict*
4 – 23 blackjacks / subdistricts*
5 – 19 jackals / subdistrict*
6 – 20 jackals / subdistricts*
OA. Figured early on Jack- might be part of a soln. but didn’t try Blackjack. Once I tried Blackjack(s) Disturb was quite obvious.
May have resisted Blackjack because of the repeated letters.
