OA. JOCUND-DAYBREAK only after howling in frustration at only seeing JOUNCED, which was not possible. A few moments later, thought, ‘Ooh, JOCUND is a good word!’ then laughed out loud as I realised, ‘Yeah, THAT was the word you needed 3 minutes ago!’ Reasonably quick except for that pre-coffee blip.
OA here as well, after getting frustrated at BREAKDANCE – ENJOY with no way to connect the U. Took me well over an hour. Also tried pairing ADJACENCE.

Same here. Saw Daybreak relatively early. Couldn’t come up with much for the J outside of Jounce and Jockey that got me anywhere close to a solution. Only things I saw that I thought had potential otherwise were Breakdance and Bounceback. Thankfully I finally saw Jocund after going back to give Daybreak another whirl. But not before having spent the better part of two hours on it. 54/56, 26/26, 29

I worked on the puzzle this morning, found adjacence and breakdance, then got frustrated because I have some type of mental block whenever there is a J in the puzzle. I just decided to take another look and immediately saw jocund-daybreak.
OA, after trying about 35 other good words including daybreak. Finally jocund,knew it had to be.
