Sides of this Letter Box are:
JTKMLOERSUAP
The answers are:
JULEPPOSTMARK
Official, and pretty quickly due to lack of options from the J placement.
I doubt there’s an alternative two-word answer in this array. I didn’t even note any good words besides the rather dull Major and Jostle. The only interesting sidetrack was trying Juleps plural first and then figuring out that the final S, usually helpful, was actually a hindrance this time.
You summarized it accurately, Bernie, in reference to J being the absolute deciding factor here; I, too, landed the official solution after only spotting JOKE, JUKE, JOULE, JUMP, JUMPROPE, MARKETS, and the -seemingly promising- ATEMPORAL. FWIW, the solving app I then checked with suggests JOKE – EMPLASTRUM or the -even more niche- KOPJE – EMPLASTRUM as alternatives.
Ah, didn’t see this before posting.. Nice ones Sota! Myself, I spent a lot of time with JUMPSTART(S)
Settled for JUMPSTARTS-SLAKE-ELK
I got JUMPSTART-TOKE-ELK
saw Julep, but not Postmark
Joke-Emplastrum here, another two word solution 🙂
Official. Joule/s and joke were the only other j words I saw. Didn’t see any promising by -ous words. Actually saw postmark before julep.
Official
JOKE – EMPLASTRUM
Laughter, the best medicine?
So, you actually worked that out, Tim?! Then the props are all yours; you certainly think outside the box -while being inside the Letter Box!
Funny you mention props, I initially was going to make a Patch Adams reference 🙂
Am I right in thinking that JULEP was in another solution some time ago?
Yep! https://letterboxedanswers.com/letter-boxed-october-18-2021-answers/
I’m glad my memory isn’t completely shot!
JULEP—POSTMARK
Official; and as usual, J is problematic.
Official.
julep – postmark
As usual, I’m losing patience due to lack of english vocabulary and end up with a triple again: JOKE-EMULATOR-RASP
Official. I noticed that TRUMP is on the board, but couldn’t come up with anything to connect words like MAJOR or JOKE.
TRUMPS – SKELP (slap/smack) – PEJORATE (depreciate/make worse) ?
There is JUST TRUMPS SOUL LEAKS.
or JOKE EAT TRUMPS SOUL.
Surprisingly, MEATMARKETS was permitted as well as ALTOSTRATUS. Neither of them led me anywhere useful. I finally settled on the three word: JAM,MEATMARKETS,SPOUSAL
To make a story possibly involving the romance at the Kentucky Derby:
JULEP,PROPOSALS,STEAM,MAKE
Another day of brain fog, so I didn’t see the official solution. But I was content with a quick three-word answer JUMPSTARTS -SLAKE -EURO. Sounds reasonable 🙂
Gave up in protest after it refused to accept JUMPSTARTS – SKELETOR. He-Man would be very disappointed! (Or maybe pleased? 🤔)
I tried the same. Skeletor would have been down.
Yes, I found that too. Saddening (if not surprising) that SKELETOR is not in the LB lexicon.
Joust jostle and eventually got official
Official here. Lots of promising compounds like JUMPROPE but none I found to finish the puzzle in two words. TRUMPSTEAK was not accepted. Ha.
Official.
