    1. CLUNKIER-RAMBLED here as well. I started out with LUCKIER and noticed that if I could include the N in the first word I would be home free.

    2. Clunkier or Unluckier Rambled (how I got lost out walking), plus Cumbered Drinkable (bartender says I gotta pay my tab). Unmiracled does seem like a stretch, although I love the TI!

      1. Close by with UNLUCKIER – RAMBLED (agree with Steph, can’t believe there aren’t more “effiicient” word pairs with good storylines!). Found UNDRINKABLE, EARMARK, ACIDIC, ACRID, etc. (without pairs)…

        1. UNLUCKIER-RAMBLED for me too—at least it’s more efficient than the peculiar OA. I also tried KNUCKLE(R/D), CRINKLED, CRACKLED, AMICABLE, CUCUMBER,…

      2. Why I didn’t get this I don’t know. Played with Drinkable and Cucumber.

Settled for Midback Knuckler which I like but LB doesn’t; Midback is not accepted 🙁

  1. CUMBERED – DRINKABLE
TI: you *can* take a swig… but it won’t be easy!

Side note: I had no idea cumbered was a word. I knew encumbered (which couldn’t work with this grid) which apparently means the same thing. But just gave it a try. Lo and behold…!

  2. Unmiracled – Debark got me there in the end but was frustrated with lots of other near misses with nicer words. Found it weird that LB would accept UNMIRACLED but not DUNKABLE. Clearly not a fan of tea and biscuits.

  3. UNMANACLED – DRINKABLE. I tell you, the lengths over has to go to one order to find an unreported solution by the time one wakes…

    1. CIRCUMLUNAR — REDBACK

Whether a red-backed sandpiper or a red-backed Australian spider, I had never heard of REDBACK (but it worked!)

  4. Was sure i would find a —-bird here somewhere as they all flew away from me. I ran out of time and patience today. Lots of one letter leftovers today fir me

  5. Went with UNLUCKIER-RAMBLED, which was slightly clunkier than the CLUNKIER-RAMBLED solution a number of others got. Still easier than WALTZ-ZIRCONIUM was for me yesterday which I didn’t get until late in the evening.

  6. Here is the full list including Scrabble words:
