The answers are:
WALTZZIRCONIUM
OA
OA.
Yup, OA again for me too in about 15 minutes. I found some other seemingly promising words first:
Maniacal, Coalition, Munition, and Multinominal. There’s a few good prefixes: Ultra, Multi, Anti, Mal.
Also sad Ultraman didn’t take 😂
Anyone try Clowncar?
I did not as i have tried it for sure in older days
No, but cowtown worked, lol
OA
I grew up in Cowtown… Also known as Fort Worth, Texas.
Yup
We got the OA for the first time!🎉
Great!
Same
OA here too. I found ZIRCONIA right off the bat but it took quite a while for the light to switch on to try ZIRCONIUM.
OA. Gotta think it’s a one solution day
Yup … Can’t think of any other possibility
ZIRCONIUM MILITIAWOMAN
(Not quite a diamond in not quite the army!)
WALTZ
ZIRCONIUM
Great find.
Wow! I was sure the OA was gonna be the only 2W solution today—well done!! 😃
Excellent work finding an alternative to Waltz Zirconium, EK! I was sure it would be another one-off.
OA too.
It’s more structured than most ballroom dances, but less natural.
😂 LOL Bernie
I’m not sure I would have found Zirconium. Not very familiar with that word. Found the array really limiting today. Ended up with a 3: TWOC (a guess) CZARINA ALUM (thought it was some form of ALUMNI but it turns out it’s a chemical compound).
Alum is a styptic pencil ingredient (for those who cut themselves shaving).
I tried CZARINA and TZARINA. Both worked but I didn’t find a match
OA with ZIRCONIUM giving me a sense of deja vu. But using the search engine Mark pointed out to me,that word last appeared in a 2022 OA, before I started to play I believe 🤔
WALTZ — ZIRCONIUM
Couldn’t get ANTIMALARIAL to work and then found ZIRCON/ZIRCONIA/ZIRCONIUM
I struggled to connect using the M (lots of MULTI words today) thinking that nothing ended in Z until I saw the W and then of course WALTZ. Challenging today (for me anyway!)
OA, too, after many tries to use the M to connect, as well
OA
OA As soon as Zirconium showed up, there was Waltz, and I was certain it’d be the OA. There’s something about the way it slides into place so silkily.
OA after a long time, because I didn’t think that I would find a connector to WALTZ so didn’t really try. I spent way more time with WAZIR and LAZULI. I found lots of big words without a W or Z (INTRAMURAL, INTRACRANIAL, INTRAOCULAR, ANTIMALARIAL, CONTRAIL, CONTRACTION, etc.), but the W and Z were the key.
OA
Here is the full list. No Scrabble words today
** Don’t look at the list if you haven’t finished solving the puzzle **
(The first number is a count and the second number is the number of letters used)
1 – 14 waltz / zirconium
2 – 21 zirconium / militiawoman
OA
OA after a few minutes. I didn’t even see any of the other words that other solvers found.
OA also.
But first tried to get matches for MANIACAL and CZARINA.
Also tried
ZIRCONIUM MULCTLAW
but really Mulct Law is two words, so LB rejected it.
