As I start to solve LB each day, I always felt it to be unsolvable. But I didn’t quit most of the time. Eureka moments in the verge of giving up were so satisfying.

Same here. Especially when there are not many prefix/suffix combinations. I start small with four letter words and then try for compound words using what I’ve found. Some days it takes me an hour or two, but it is a stimulating puzzle and there is a new one each day! 🙂

Yes! So many potential variations with BEWILDERED/LY – WILDFLOWERS – DAYLILIES – EYEBROWS/ED – FARSIDE(S) – SIDEBARS – FAILSAFE without quite getting to that elusive pair but finally landing on FORBIDS + SLIDEWAY 🙂

nice! i went back for a second round and found that solution too. the word list seems to include the machinist trade — SLIDEWAY and also DRAWBAR (which got me nowhere) 🙂

Yes, nice OA with Flowerbed Daisy, and/or Beflowered and Daisy, or Daylilies, Diyas, Dayside). Also Biased Dayflower and Dayflower Rabies, which are not nearly so nice. Dayflowers was not accepted for some reason, so no Rabid Dayflowers, which is probably just as well.
