ARGH! I grew up near DC and drove the BELTWAY all the time! How did I miss that, even though I’ve been living in the UK for decades?!
Yes, the beltway surrounding DC. I remember trying to attend two conferences in two days and driving endlessly lost on that road. I forget the two cities involved but I do recall checking into a hotel at 3AM ish, and then up at 7AM to make the conference. 😴

Funny, that’s my corner of the world. Just moved from Winchester, VA (ca. 70mi west of D.C.). Got a kid—grownup now—who lives in Annapolis.
Still, I missed BELTWAY and ended up with BIKEWAYS–SMARTLY.
BIKEWAYS-SMARTLY here. Having also lived in the DC area for a few years during training, it is not surprising that I found a way to avoid the Beltway. 66 is a disaster all the time. The DC equivalent of the Cross Bronx Expressway.
