POND – DUMBSTRUCK. More efficient by one letter less.
Can’t wait to see Miss Irim and Kanishk-boy with their solutions.
Amazing job, RF – well done, congrats on the efficient solve.
I was dumbstruck when I saw today’s grid – only two vowels?! I spotted TRUCKSTOP first, and I was so surprised it was accepted – but was unable to make it work. Then found STORMBOUND, and I knew I was bound to get a solution soon.
I tried for ten minutes to no avail, trying to connect it with the leftovers – P, K and C. Then slowly burst out laughing when I realised TRUCKSTOP had all those letters. So that’s my solution! TRUCKSTOPS – STORMBOUND. Probably my least efficient yet.
Irim, we’re waiting for you now, hoping to see you join us on the success train shortly!
Kanishk and I are sheltering at the same place – TRUCKSTOPS-STORMBOUND almost immediately here, and it makes me feel like like a big rig driving stormchaser! Don’t care that it’s not efficient, I just LOVE it.
Congratulations to the triumphant triumvirate, not least to RF on her slightly more efficient than OA solution.
Good luck, all, and happy Sunday!
Glad to see all three of us here – well done to the triumvirate! Irim, same here, I absolutely LOVE our solution – sometimes thematic integrity just makes up for lack in efficiency!
How are you both doing – how are your Hindi lessons going, Irim? And hope you are feeling better, RF? How can we be here for you?
Miss Irim, I’m a boy! 😉
Kanishk-boy, 3 out of 4 of my canker sores healed. The one left is so stubborn. But I’m glad there are no new ones.
Radio, make sure you don’t have BEHCETS SYNDROME as different treatments may then become available to you.
Pound Dumbstruck
POND DUMBSTRUCK here too.
Same here. Struck, then Dumbstruck, then pond was left
Pond Dumbstruck
Another POND DUMBSTRUCK here
Pond Dumbstruck
Another POND DUMBSTRUCK here. Was initially disappointed not to be able to use DUMPTRUCK, but knew a solve was close. Congrats to those who found multiple!
Pond & Dumbstruck
I think the word Pond is more efficient than the word Pound.
DUMBSTRUCK KNOP
Pond/pound/propound dumbstruck
Duckponds(W) stormbound duckpondS).
Another POND-DUMBSTRUCK.
I found TRUCKSTOPS previously, saw that BOUND would use most of the remaining letters, and was trying to run through compounds of BOUND to see if anything could connect them and use the M, but I didn’t think of STORMBOUND.
Also was disappointed that DUCKPONDS was not accepted.
Truckstops stormbound
Duckpond(w) dumbstruck
