  1. Best I could find was PANTOGRAPH – HUMID, 14/2 like the official (though DIAPHRAGM is a better word). I will be curious to see if anyone finds a 13/2. Tough set of letters for avoiding duplication.

      1. Sota21 keepin’ ‘em honest!
Pundit – Tomograph here. I was pleased to find Pundit, a fine word even though it causes much weeping and grinding of teeth when I hear the many who should know better (BBC reporters! English professors!) pronounce it Pundint. They also think Tenet is pronounced Tenant. And when they say “Its”, I can somehow hear them saying “It’s” instead, and vice versa. My poor teeth.

        1. Pardon my incomprehension but how’s is ‘its’ pronounced any different than ‘it’s’ -or is that just a way of visualizing their half-ignorance & inadequacy (with which there’s no argument whatsoever)?

          1. Just my leetle hoke, Sota, allthough the odds are pretty good they really ARE seeing it wrong in their mind’s eye, and maybe I’m picking up on that!
Speaking as the world’s crankiest grammarian, I will take this opportunity to deliver my current best advice, which I freely impart to everyone whether they want to hear it or not: never ever say Whomever. It will literally NEVER be right, and if by some remote chance someone DOES manage to use it in the one sentence out of a thousand where it’s technically correct, they just sound like a pedantic jerk.

      2. 14/2 +/- 1. Reminds me of the old Boston joke about the student who lined up at the express checkout with a full shopping cart, prompting the clerk to say, “I don’t know if you’re from Harvard and can’t count or from MIT and can’t read, but you’re in the wrong lane!”

    1. I too am pleased to see Humid put to good use! It’s more than I could manage.
Still not seeing any 13/2 action. I suspect 14/2 is the lowest this array can go.
