ENJOYMENTTEXTSPEAK
I found ENJOYMENT. But gave up quickly. I knew it had to be a part of the OA. But, the leftovers seemed gibberish to me.
Lately, I only got the halves of the OAs. Good decision that I gave up sooner. No way I could find the other halves. But, I am losing my patience nonetheless.
Also decided to give up sooner as sensed I might be gloxini-ated. Stopped at the threebie JOE-EXEMPTS-SKANKY
😅🤗
Same here. Felt impossible, not fun.
Ditto: ENJOYMENTS – SAXES – SPEAK (close but would never have gotten TEXTSPEAK)
In the last 6 days, I only got 1 solve.
Same. Found myself just giving up sooner rather than coming back later. Sometimes the brain takes one look and says ‘nope’ rather than ‘hmmm’. But I live in eternal hope of the day Cryptographer come up!!
Same here. I played with ENJOYMENT(S) for a good while knowing that this had to be part of the solution, but didn’t come up with the other half. Silly word. I also ran with ONYXES for a while, but that also led nowhere.
Have up after an hour+🤬
I found… Enjoyments, Stepmom, Axmen, Pajamas, Onyxes, Moneyman, Apexes, Stonemason, Antonym, Synonym, Aptonym.
Sextoy, Stepstone not accepted
Oa
I wasn’t expecting textspeak to work.
Ditto
Same here. Just when I was thinking it was a crazy collection of letters I tried textspeak and then enjoyment stood out
Same here. Got TEXTSPEAK first in about 30 mins, and then ENJOYMENT happened straightaway, although these esoteric one-solution puzzles of late have not been particularly enjoyable. I much prefer the less constricting puzzles.
OA too. Was very pleased when TEXTSPEAK was accepted.
This was my experience as well. Was a little surprised it was the OA. Happy to chalk it up In the win column.
OA but found TEXTSPEAK first. I had found ENJOY without the MENT, so after TEXTSPEAK, ENJOYMENT leapt out.
ENJOYMENT — TEXTSPEAK
Found SPEAK early, tried TEXTSPEAK as a guess.
Spent way too much time with ANASTOMOSES, STONEMASON, PENTOSANE, PYJAMAS.
OA eventually ; Pyjamas snarled me too – but all that was left was ‘sexknot’ 😆
Far better than the OA – bravo!
😅
OA. Enjoyment always looked highly likely. Textspeak took a little longer to find.
💙
TEXTSPEAK IS NOT A WORD! 🤬😡😤
And birds aren’t real either.
Actually I found Enjoyment Textspeak quite quickly. From my tortured interactions with textspeak, “Enjoyment” is a stretch. “Mild Annoyance” is about the best you can expect. In any case, I think it’s another SS.
Learned a new word today in TEXTSPEAK .. ended with this 3-solve
AXE-ENJOYMENTS-SPANK
OA. TI: happiness from emojis! 😃🤩
But I gotta say it wasn’t all that satisfying (ironic given the solution). I presume this is another singular 2W Solution day
Three word answer with the last word not accepted! :))) MOJOS – SPANKS – (SEXTOY)
I was on the right track, but I didn’t think about TEXTSPEAK as a word. I stopped with three words: ENJOYMENTS-SPEAKS-SEX. (I could have also done ENJOYMENT-TEAKS-SEX, but I liked the other three words better together.)
Pyjamas – sexton
Missing the K. My first guess too, then got 4w SEXTON NAP PYJAMAS SKY, and 3w PYJAMAS SEXT TONK. But fairly soon I got ENJOY/MENT/S and the OA. Not too bad today!
There was only 1 solution today. And one scrabble word.
1 – 18 enjoyment / textspeak
2 – 19 enjoyment / textspeaks*

OA. Found ENJOYMENT pretty early and felt too efficient to not be part of the solution. Took a lot longer to find TEXTSPEAK, and I agree that it being a singular solution (and the recent string of solves in general) have not been very satisfying. I stuck with it today because I gave up too early yesterday and it felt doable (even if it once again relied on Yiddish, a serious crutch for Ezersky. 🙄)
Agree, agree. It’s been an annoying, unsatisfying week for me, too. Got Enjoyment(s) pretty quickly and knew it had to be part of the OA. Then found Axe—Enjoyments—Spank and finally took a shot at Textspeak. Voila.
Got enjoyment and pyjamas but could not solve with the remaining. Dang. Would never have guessed textspeak. Oh well
Me neither.
I checked
scrabblewordfinder.org and found out that
“textspeak” is not in the US Scrabble dictionary or Words with Friends dictionary – it is in the UK Scrabble dictionary.
Checking a little further, “textspeak” is a listing in the OED, Cambridge, and Collins online dictionaries … although from the examples listed in the OED it seems there is no agreement whether it is one word, two words or hyphenated.
Merriam-Webster’s has empatically NOT sunken to the depths of listing “textspeak” in their online dictionary:
https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/textspeak
But my basic problem was that, true to my habit, i was trying to maximize the length of the first word … so i kept looking for a match for ENJOYMENTS, so a match starting with S … if i really looked at the letters and thought of starting with T, i might have had a chance of thinking “textspeak” … but probably not – to me “textspeak” is just SMS.
I guessed TEXTSPEAK for some reason.
