BOUGHHOSPITALITY
Baptist – Toughly
FORCES SUBMERSION
same, and I was happy to get it.
Spent a while on philosophy, philosophists.
When I realized the -ough was there, it was a quicker trip.
BAPTIST – TOUGHLY one of my first two-solves
YAY!!!! Got the OA!

Same here. Didn’t think it’d be considering all the repeated letters. But I’ll take it!
I’m the 1st to get the OA! Yay!!!!

9-letter:

Clue: Space Trekker
COSMONAUT?
CORRECT!!!! Ms.FISHCAKE!

BAPTIST-TOUGHLY was a bit rubbish, I thought, but all I could find. One-shies: PLAYBOYS-SOUGHT and TUGBOAT-TIPSILY. I found it hard to let go of PHILOSOPHY (and didnโt know PHILOSOPHIST was a wordโฆ ๐ง). Also SOLIPSIST, STOPGAP, LAYBYโฆ
PALPABILITYโฆ
BAPTIST-TOUGHLY also, but I was pleased to find it. St John was not a mild prophet after all.
What a dimwit! Had Bough and had Hositality, just not together ๐ . So I present you with an interesting triple:
Bop Playlist Tough. It has TI, it is efficient… ish. Hmm.
What is this bough hospitality anyway? ‘You can sleep here, in a tree!’ Yeah, real hospitable.
OA as well โ one little birdie letting another share his branch?
GLOBALISTS – SUBPHYLA. Also GALIPOTS* – SUBPHYLA (two very fun words with at least some TI). I really wanted to find a match for SYLPH, but struck out.
Just scrolled up to discover that our solutions today match. ๐ฆ๐ฆ
Man, I found SUBPHYLA early on, but did not manage to pair it. Nicely done, DW!
PLOUGHBOYS SPATIAL. A Bit wordy, but still a solve!
Yup. Also Ploughboys Stasis (thatโs how you keep โem down on the farm!), and Statist (the Grange movement, Iโm thinking). Once I found Ploughboy I just had to use it.
and a bit obscure, but
Playboys solatia
Sorry, that should have been Ploughboys solatia
PLOUGHBOYS STABILITY was mine. Was determined to make the -ABILITY ending work (PLAUSIBILITY, PALPABILITY . . .)
ABOUGHT – TIPSILY โ atone whilst being slightly schnockered.
Same.
Same. Abought was new to meโI typed it in because I didnโt know what to do with the a.
The problem I have with BAPTIST-TOUGHLY (my only find) is:
1. isnโt Baptist a proper noun?
and 2. isnโt tough already an adverb, so why does it need the โlyโ?
My tuppence-worth for today!
๐คจ๐ง๐ค
TOUGHLY is an adverb whereas TOUGH is an adjective, apparently.
Ploughboys stability…so needed in these times!
PLOUGHBOYS-STABILITY for me too. Way too long, and most ploughboys are driving tractors these days, but ALIOW.๐
BOUGHPOTS โ STABILITY, except LB doesn’t recognize the first word.
My thinking: Baptist with capital B is a religion; baptist with a small b is an occupation, like pharmacist.
Right. Also Japan was accepted by letterbox a while back but not a different country I tried (Sweden? I forget which).
Itโs annoying that perfectly good English words that arenโt proper nouns are not accepted and others that are, wellโฆ are.
Japan is also a lacquer, whereas Sweden isโฆ Sweden.

What are you doing over here in MY corner, Fishcake?

POTATOBUGยนโGHOSTILY
GULPโPHOTOSTABILITY
HYLOPATHISTยนโTUGBOAT
ยน psw
baptists – sloughy
abought – tipsily
Ploughboys Suitability
A job walking behind the ox team.
BOUGH – HOSPITALITY
Playsuit – Toughboys — Sadly, toughboys was not accepted. I liked the TI though. I had a hard time with this LB
GLOBALISTS – SUBPHYLA
baptists, sloughy and philobats, sloughy
ploughboys, stability
OA after a lot of noodling on OUTPLAYS, PHILOSOPHY, PALPABILITY, and SUITABILITY.
