no dancing partner for QUARTZINE?
I fiddled with it a little, then quickly saw YOWZER and paired it with QUANTITY, i.e., went for the easy win.
Me too…fun, fast solve
Found QUANTITY first, then YOWZER popped out 🙃
Quantity— Yowzer just about immediately
antiquity-yowzer
ANTIQUITY YOWZER
and that was too much like hard work. EAT made it fiendish, that took me quite a while…yowzer, I was almost an antiquity by the end of it!
😄
Antiquary-Yowzer
ANTIQUARY – YOWZER as well.
QUANTIZER-RYOTWAR
Excellent!
I found QUANTIZER but couldn’t connect it. I had never heard of RYOTWAR before.
Quantity yowzer
Also QUANTITY—YOWZER
YOWZA — ANTIQUER
Found QUANT and then when I saw ATION, I immediately thought of QAUANTIZATION, but no joy.
Spent a lot of time on QUANITY and QUANTIZER, then QUARTZ, QUARTZY, and QUARTZINE, but still no luck. Found ANTIQUE and ANTIQUER, and I tried YOWZA as a guess (didn’t really think it would be accepted).
My first guess was WOWZER but it wasn’t accepted. It’s actually spelled WOWSER. News to me. 🙂 YOWZA luckily soon popped into my head.
If you’re using your brain to come up with things, great… if you’re using a program, please stop boasting….err…. posting!
Amen
Quantity-Yowzer
QUANTITY YOWZER
Sheesh! I’ll grudgingly accept yowza but yowzer is even lamer.
Was kind of surprised LB accepted YOWZER when I stuck it on the end of QUANTITY, but it was one of those quick solves, so I took it. Kind of like when the ump makes a bad call in your favor, you don’t feel so great about it, but you don’t argue it either…
Boomer here. I actually use the term “yowzer” with some regularity. (Never yowza.) I also use “wowser ”which I thought for sure was spelled “wowzer”.
YOWZER REQUANTIZE*
*from Wiki and books:
“The term requantize generally means to quantize something again. It is often used in the context of digital data, signal processing, and machine learning.”
It wouldn’t accept REQUANTIZE for me.
Me neither. That’s why I put the asterisk.
YOWZA-ANTIQUER
Voluptuous vintage?
Fail today. Got ANTIQUER but was unable to pair it. Thought I was headed for a win with either QUARTZINE or QUANTIZER, both using up 9 letters! Also found QUINARY and QUARANTINE.
I think I was too focused on finding words starting with Q.
EYEWORT is in Webster’s Dictionary, but not accepted by the game.
Well that would have helped with my first find of QUARTZINE! But I finally landed on ANTIQUER and found YOWZA in short order. Huzzah!
Antiquary
Yowzer
Quantity – Yowzer
I didn’t expect yowzer to be accepted but I think that I’ve heard it said in a cartoon context. Did Scooby Doo say, “Yowzer?”
QUANTITY – YOWZER
Size matters.
YOWZAR* REQUINTO
*older variation of Yowza and Yowzer. It was used in the name of a song from Earl Carroll’s Sketchbook Revue of 1935. “Yowzar — The Gay Nineties”
Requinto is a guitar-like instrument.
For future reference TOWARZYSTWO — Polish term for entourage. In Cambridge Dictionary. 🙂
Antiquity yowzer tied quantize eyewort much earlier but LB wouldn’t accept eyewort. A real struggle today when it seemed at the start that it might be easy antique was about the last q word I saw after shotgunning around the array all day between tasks
Also tried quantizer rosy in first minute, LB said no, should have checked OED! Not rosy. Rowy.
