    1. Similarly, Browns Stimulant. I was too tired to look for anything better, when it would have been so easy to drop the N from Browns! Sam Ervin endorsed the product.

  1. BROWNS – STIMULANTS. A good way to get disqualified from cooking up the stash in the future.

Actually, I got there the long way around, assuming this was one of those puzzles that involved a worm of some kind. Began with LOBWORMS, thence STIMULANT, then realized there was a shorter solution.

I was hoping there was some way to make use of one of my favourite neologisms, SANTORUM.

  2. I’m still amazed at how many PSWs there are that are unaccepted in LB.
Today’s anagram groups really show this dichotomy.

    AMASS², ASSAM², MASAS¹, MASSA², SAMAS¹
    ROOST², ROOTS², ROTOS, TOROS¹, TORSO
    ALANS¹, ANLAS¹, LANAS¹, NALAS, NASAL
    BASTO¹, BOAST, BOATS, BOTAS, SABOT
    AMAIN¹, AMNIA, ANIMA, MANIA
    SAINT, SATIN, STAIN, TAINS¹
    AIRTS, ASTIR, STAIR, STRIA
    ROAST, ROTAS, SORTA¹
    TAINT, TANTI¹, TITAN
    MANAT, MANTA
    BANAL, NABLA
    ¹ psw
    ² double-lettered

    11 PSWs unaccepted in LB!
Might be time to email NYT again.
    😠

  3. ALBUMINS STROW, a complete guess or fluke; wasn’t sure the first word could be plural, and the 2nd word I never heard of and just took a wild guess.

  4. Worms Substantial fairly quickly. Substantial was the only word of any substance that stuck it’s head up and Worms stuck their heads up thereafter.

Anywhow, I guess Sam are both in the garden (each with our own POV).
