      1. After spending forever with SQUIRMY, I found ZYMOGENS which goes with any of SQUIRE, SQUIRM, SQUIRMY, SQUIRING.

        Also ZYMOSES*-SQUIRING

    1. similar …
      ZYMOGENS SQUIRM

I started by looking for a pair for SQUIRMY but after finding ZYMOGENS i realized i could drop the last Y … but i still kind of like SQUIRMY … couldn’t do SQUIRMIER today!
      😎🐝🇺🇸

    2. Same. This is the third time in my records that gizmo appeared in the OA, and I haven’t gotten it once. I have gizmo blindness.

    1. i think ZYMOGEN is a Mark word … i saw it in a word list and went with it … from Wikipedia:
“biochemistry, a zymogen, also called a proenzyme, is an inactive precursor of an enzyme.
A zymogen requires a biochemical change for it to become an active enzyme.”
      😎

      1. i think i remember Mark having a background in Biochem … i’m just a dirt engineer … and anti-floodwater engineer.
        😎

          1. Probably you are very right Bernie … hopefully i can work my way out of a job on the flooding thing but the scale of the problem and 4,000 plus years of history says Not any time soon.

        1. Hey there McBee! ☕ After looking up ZYMOGEN, I thought SQUIRMY would fit that biological theme better.

P.S. Physics, and Math, for me. 🙂

          1. Thanks!
i know that you Know a lot of biochem and other related words … i’m still learning!!!

PS – i really like the new emojis … especially the derivative and blowhard ones from a couple of days ago … i don’t seem to have any like those on my phone … they look cool 😎

    2. Same. Got SQUIRMY immediately…Tried MONOGENESIS (no Z), ZYGOUS* (not accepted – really?!), EQUINE(S); REQUIRING; YEZ…Totally missed QUERY(IES)

  1. QUEYS – SERMONIZING
    Cattle prattle.
    Yackety yaks.

quey: A young cow, esp. before it has had a calf; a heifer.
(News to me before I tried it).

  2. Today’s AntiHero
Brought to you by the letter R.
    ===============================

    The RUMORMONGER
    is REUSING his RUINOUS ROGUERY.

    Trying to REENGINEER² the REGENESIS
    by RESIZING the ROGUE REGIONS.

In a RIGOROUS, yet RUINOUS way,
he RINSES, he ROUSES, he REZEROS.

After RENEGING on his RESINOUS RERISING°,
he finally RESIGNS from his RISQUE RUMOURING.

    The End.
    🙂

      1. Those would have been good additions to the story. And I realized later I used RUINOUS twice. That was an accident, and one where I wished I could have edited after the fact.

  3. QUOYS-SERMONIZING (16/2)
“A piece of land that was once part of a common pasture but was enclosed and cultivated for farming. The word comes from the Old Norse word kví, which means “an enclosure for cattle”.
    I’ll take it

  4. OA. Found GIZMOS early, but spent a long time looking at INQUIRY/ENQUIRY and looking for ~IZE words. Glad I didn’t give up today.
