PNEUMONICCIRCUMFLEX
PNEUMONIC-CIRCUMFLEX
Failed on this, but I still can’t help myself.
PNEUMONIC – CIRCUMFLEX
Punctuated lung.
Not bad, THIS!
Got the OA Pneumonic Circumflex, but only because Circumflexion Nope was rejected, ruining the flow. As OAs go, this one is awfully complicated.
Frenum Monoplexic
Excellent!
LB beat me today. I had to settle with
PERFUMER ROIL LEXICON.
PNEUMONIC—CIRCUMFLEX
PROPENOIC—CIRCUMFLEX
UNPROLIFIC—CIRCUMFLEX
POMONIC°—CIRCUMFLEX
LEUCOPENIC°—CIRCUMFLEX
POLICLINIC°—CIRCUMFLEX
CIRCUMFLEXION°—NOPE
CIRCUMFLEXION°—NONUPLE
PROLIFIC—CIRCUMFLEXION°
PNEUMONIC—CIRCUMFLEXION°
I enjoyed looking up some words in OED this morning.
☕
You’re a better man than I am Gunga Din!
Great movie! It’s the 1939 one with Cary Grant that I remember watching with my father.
And the poem is legendary.
“…An’ I’ll get a swig in hell from Gunga Din!…”
👍
Sam Jaffe 🙂
Humble, and heroic.
Yep, Cary Grant, Douglas Fairbanks Jr., Victor McLaglen and Sam Jaffe as native bhisti Gunga Din who saves the day and sacrifices his life to warn the British soldiers of an impending Thuggee trap. On the same level and also in 1939 is ‘The Four Feathers’.
I only know that movie from William Goldman’s Temple of Gold.
Yep,that one also had C. Aubrey Smith, leader of the Hollywood Raj
And saw McLaglen a few days ago in The Quiet Man – his best role?
I just watched The Informer with Victor McLaglen.
CIRCUMFLEXION–NOPE
unprolific circumflex
Flexion – numeric
PROPENOIC — CIRCUMFLEX
PNEUMONIC — CIRCUMFLEX
UNPROLIFIC — CIRCUMFLEX
CIRCUMFLEX looks to be the key word today. Anyone get a solve that doesn’t contain it?
Close: PERFUME—EXOCLINE°^
I think LB should have had that one.
It’s in OED° and MW^.
Oh well, I’m not surprised anymore.
🙂☕☕
PERFUME – EXILER – RECON 🙁
Closest I got was Perfumer-Lexicon without a connector letter.
So of course it doesn’t count. Glad I gave up then.
Oops, Fernando, just saw you had the same journey. I didn’t scroll to the bottom before I made my comment.
Made heavy work of this…. Pneumonic-Circumflex.
FLEXION-NUMERIC-CUP (17/3) N
Found CIRCUMFLEX bu5 couldn’t get a link. Some others I worked on:
COUPON(ER), PERFUME(R), LEXICON, ELIXIR, (RE)CONFIRM, COUPLE, PERPLEX(ER)
Nice 3w there; I got some of those other words too, plus XEROX, UNIFIER, EXPLORE/R, RECOUP/ER, COUPE, COUPLER, FLEXOR, MORON/IC, ICON/IC etc.
OA after a bit of a struggle.
Was hoping for CUNEIFORM but alas didn’t fit. I wanted to match it with MONOPLEX* — a predatory sea snail!
Kinda strange that CIRCUMFLEXION wasn’t accepted, but CIRCUMFLEX was.
Yes, INFLEXION was ok’d to my surprise, also I think FLEXION, but not CIRCUMFLEXION.
PRIONIC* CIRCUMFLEX
A coronary artery in a mad cow.
Missed that first word, got 2nd one right away… eventually settled for 3w CIRCUMFLEX XENON NOPE. Afterwards I found CONFINE EXPLORER RUM. (I had tried Explorer-Rifle-Ecumenic, which I got from the dictionary but wasn’t accepted)
POUF FLEXION NECROMONICON*
For H.P.Lovecraft fans…
Oops, sorry. scratch that! Typo. Necronomicon doesnt work.
(I wish we could edit comments. They do allow it in other forums.)
Fail today. Wouldn’t have gotten CIRCUMFLEX at gunpoint. I am a bit puzzled as to why RECONFIRM is accepted but PRECONFIRM is not. Seems as if all those credit card offers that I receive in the mail say that I am preconfirmed for a card.
There are a lot of words that are not accepted– never with an explanation.
Unprolific – circumflex
I got as far as LEXICON and PERFUME but couldn’t find a way to join them together.
You win this round Letterboxed….
McLaglen won best actor for Informant.Another John Ford great- deserved every bit of his praise
PNEUMONIC – CIRCUMFLEX (Wow! Took awhile, but so happy!)
UNPROLIFIC – CIRCUMFLEX. Got stuck like many on LEXICON -?- PERFUME, as well as FLEXION, PERPLEXION, and RECONFIRM. Glad I stuck this one out. 😅
