      1. Me too l. It often takes me ages to solve these but for some reason epidural leapt put at me!

I think doing The LondonTimes cryptic crosswords helps. I always start by going through the clues looking for anagrams.

I like this one, Patrice! But a surprising amount of variation today. The old feast-or-famine phenom.
I went with Finder Reputable. Mr. Keen, Tracer of Lost Persons! Or, as Bob and Ray would have it, Mr. Trace, Keener than Most Persons.
BTW, if you’d like to listen to the original radio show in all its magnificent idiocy, or to Bob and Ray’s wry version, hie yourself over to the Internet Archive. Give them money. This is where the Wayback Machine resides. America really really needs it.

        1. I thought it was easier actually since I saw REPUTABLE first. I then became a FINDER finder almost instantly. Give me the more efficient answer anytime.

    1. I don’t like to revisit my silly quips, but for the sake of our shared logophilia… run, put, set are the English words with the most definitions.

And I was trying to make finders keepers, losers weepers; fit into this LB mound.

Thanks, MVUA! I did not know that. Interesting fact! I must remember to trot it out in future conversations. Although, let’s face it, I probably won’t remember what the three words are by the time tomorrow rolls around.

  1. DEFINABLE – ERUPT
    RUPTURED – DEFINABLE

    UNDEFINABLE – ERUPT
    UNRUPTURED – DEFINABLE

    INDEFINABLE – ERUPT

    FINDABLE° – ERUPT
    UNFINDABLE° – ERUPT

    ° OED

    1. Same here. I thought it might be the OA. It is an efficient solution. I found DEFINABLE and ERUPT after trying several other combinations. I like when there are several solutions to an LB puzzle.

  2. Came up with a couple non-accepted answers before finding UNDEFEATABLE EPIDURAL .

Was surprised UNAFRAID DEPUTABLE* not ok.

  3. Fail today. I didn’t see any of the words in the other comments. 🙁 I got BEAUTIFIED immediately and thought that would lead to something, but I couldn’t find a match. I also had high hopes for UNDERLIT, but alas.
