MATZAH? Is that a typo? I hit on MATZOH HYPOCRISY, didn’t bother to look and see if that was some alternate spelling…

    2. Matzoh – Hypocrisy

I was so sure I had it with…
      Physicism – Matzo (no R)

Also had… Mythicism, Morphism, Pathicism, Airports

  1. RHIZOMIC – COPYCATS here. Surprised that COPYPASTA wasn’t accepted. Would never have got the OA, lol.

I LOVED RF’s comment yesterday, but I was too busy to reply. I also failed yesterday. Maybe I should start seeing these puzzles from a different perspective, instead of getting annoyed at not being able to solve the puzzle. Yes, I’m always very exhausted and disappointed when I fail, but part of the LetterBoxed joy is learning new words along the way, and what fun would it be if I managed to solve every single puzzle? Failing a puzzle only makes solving the next one worth it, for the satisfaction you get after a fiendish grid.

Have a VERY happy weekend to everyone, and Irim and RF, awaiting your solves shortly!

    1. Hi, my lovely, so good to see you today; I kept checking back. And I also loved RF’s comment – it helped me shift perspective too. It’s a lazyish Saturday, so I’m late to the party. For me, it’s the reverse solve of someone else here:

HYPOCORISM-MATZAH (the latter being the usual spelling for me, so MATZOH is the surprise)

A pet name for for a Pesach staple.

BTW, I’d love to see your three word solves if you don’t get a two: those are still proper solutions. Have a great weekend!

      1. I love your solution, HYPOCORISM is an amazing word! Well done. And yes, I always disregard solving the puzzle in three because I am usually so focussed on solving it in two that I consider doing it in more than two a fail. I’ll post my three-solves as well going forward. 🙂

  2. (ISO)ZYMIC* CATASTROPHIC
    *OED

    MYCORHIZAS* STROPHIC
*var. spelling of mycorrhiza. Collins Dict.
“On the Mycorhizas of Forest Trees
By Walter Byron McDougall · 1914”

    1. Same here. Impossible to find a longer word with a Z. So I went down the shorter word path with Hazy, Sizism, and finally Matzoh.

  3. Don’t quote me on this, but I’m pretty sure Matzoh is plural. So little that one could do with that Z today. I had both Matzoh and Copycats. But did not link them. Instead I struggled much longer period of time until I came up with astrophysicists. And then tried Maza on a whim and was delightfully relieved, especially after yesterday’s failure, when it was accepted. 63//66, 1, 36

  4. Hi all been lurking for a couple of months but thought I’d say hi and thanks for the help and the inspiration to keep at this puzzle.

Today was MAZA ASTROPHYSICIST for me

    Thanks to all again!
