    1. Me too. So went back to try hand at PHOTOCHROME but all i got was EMPTIABLE but not accepted. Will try to find more tomorrow

  1. TROCHAIC – COMPATIBLE, or comparable
I believe we’re in for a feast today,
(and perhaps some comparable / compatible themes in trochaic tetrameter.)

OA right out of the gate. Decent TI too! But “Too easy”, quoth I, and started hacking around with Problem and Biotech before coming to my senses. “There’s only so many hours in the day, and the time could be better spent, so let’s just declare victory and move on… to Connections!”
Still, nice to see so many alternate answers. Obviously a fruitful selection of letters.

Gack! As if crabs aren’t already scary enough without the vampirism! (Granted, I was traumatized as a child by seeing Attack of the Giant Crab Monsters. Actually, it was the Million Dollar Movie on TV that week when we were in NYC, so I saw it at least 10 times. How’s THAT for a trip down Memory Lane!?)
Still icky but less scary, on the TI side, if read as a reference to horseshoe crabs, whose blood is used in the production of human vaccines. Puts the crabs at the business end of the bloodsuck instead of their putative victims…

          “Don’t go in that cave!”
I was about the same age, I think. TBH, by the fifth or sixth viewing my sister and I were doing a mini MST3K on it, looong before Joel….

  3. Haven’t found a 2-solve lately (I get busy working if I can’t find it within 10 minutes). Got the OA in less than five minutes today. Feeling pretty good (but pale in comparison to some of you all).

  4. My first solution was ROMP-PITCHABLE, but PITCHABLE is not a PSW, so I had to disqualify that. I quickly found the OA and still had a little time, so I played around and stumbled upon my favourite solution, CHIMP-PROTECTABLE, which brought to mind the brilliant Suburban Auto Group Trunk Monkey series of ads. See, e.g., https://youtu.be/sTXu-LlkyS8.

🐦 BARBET, CHAT, CHILIA, COCHOA, COMET, CROMBEC, ELEPAIO, IORA, LIOCICHLA, METALTAIL, MOTMOT, PALILA, PAROTIA, PHOEBE, PIHA, PIPIPI, PECHORA PIPIT, RAIL, RHEA, TEAL, COAL TIT, MIOMBO TIT, TOMTIT 🐦🐦 ATTILA, COOT, PARROT, PARROTLET, PITTA

  5. I went back to the puzzle today, after a possible alternate solution came to me. It didn’t pan out, but I did find that LB accepts ‘PROBLEMO.’ This would suggest that there are a lot of other borrowed words (from French, Spanish, etc) that we haven’t even thought of trying.
