IMPROBABLEETCH
ROMP-PITCHABLE. An episode of Mad Men.
Me too. So went back to try hand at PHOTOCHROME but all i got was EMPTIABLE but not accepted. Will try to find more tomorrow
Ditto
Same…
In the writer’s room for the beach party films.
Got the OA before looking for and finding this 13/2! Haha love the Mad Men callout 🙂
Me too
Patchable-embroil
Same here
Probable Emphatic
Same here.
Yep. This one really came quickly today. Now I guess I’ll have to start working.
TROCHAIC – COMPATIBLE, or comparable
I believe we’re in for a feast today,
(and perhaps some comparable / compatible themes in trochaic tetrameter.)
Charbroil Limpet
My contribution to the feast, just throw em in the caldron.
Same here with CHARBROIL – LIMPET. Are those things even edible?
Also CHIP PROMOTABLE. intel inside
PHOTOCHROMIC—CELEBRATOR
A sun worshipper!
🌟😎
Morphic Celebrate
👍
I’ll drink (laudanum) to that!
Or the alternate. MORPHIC CELIBATE
Was attached to PHOTOCHROME for ages and couldn’t make it work so delighted to see this variation!
Got the OA quickly. Twice in a week, nothing short of miraculous. 🙂
OA here too!
Protectable emphatic
Looks inefficient but i will take it as its too early for brain to be effective.
OA right out of the gate. Decent TI too! But “Too easy”, quoth I, and started hacking around with Problem and Biotech before coming to my senses. “There’s only so many hours in the day, and the time could be better spent, so let’s just declare victory and move on… to Connections!”
Still, nice to see so many alternate answers. Obviously a fruitful selection of letters.
Probiotic – Chemtrail
Don’t give the conspiracy-mongers any ideas, Justin!
LABILE-ECTOMORPH.
Laughing, weeping, beating their bony breasts….
OMPHALIC – CRABMEAT. Anyone else?
Love this! Definitely didn’t see it.. what happens to sloppy seafood eaters without shirts on?
Love this! Definitely didn’t see it.. what happens to sloppy shirtless seafood eaters?
blimp jumped out first and then I discovered the word parochet
BIOMORPHIC – CLEAT Kind of a yucky image.
Phlebotomic Crab
Gack! As if crabs aren’t already scary enough without the vampirism! (Granted, I was traumatized as a child by seeing Attack of the Giant Crab Monsters. Actually, it was the Million Dollar Movie on TV that week when we were in NYC, so I saw it at least 10 times. How’s THAT for a trip down Memory Lane!?)
Still icky but less scary, on the TI side, if read as a reference to horseshoe crabs, whose blood is used in the production of human vaccines. Puts the crabs at the business end of the bloodsuck instead of their putative victims…
I saw Attack of the Giant Crab Monsters when I was 7 years old, and I had nightmares for weeks!
“Don’t go in that cave!”
I was about the same age, I think. TBH, by the fifth or sixth viewing my sister and I were doing a mini MST3K on it, looong before Joel….
PHLEBOTOMIC-CRAB
BALM – MORPHETIC 13/2
something about holistic sleeping aids..
ROMP-PITCHABLE for me, too. Every editorial meeting ever at the (now-defunct) News of the World.
Haven’t found a 2-solve lately (I get busy working if I can’t find it within 10 minutes). Got the OA in less than five minutes today. Feeling pretty good (but pale in comparison to some of you all).
PHOTOCHROMIC – CITABLE
Emphatic Corbel
CHOMP PARTIBLE for another 13/2.
MORPHEMIC – CELIBATE here. Ironically redundant 🙂
PHLEBOTOMIC—CRAP
Quick find today!
Excellent, MD! This one has the additional desirable quality of interchangeability.
ROMP PITCHABLE
My first solution was ROMP-PITCHABLE, but PITCHABLE is not a PSW, so I had to disqualify that. I quickly found the OA and still had a little time, so I played around and stumbled upon my favourite solution, CHIMP-PROTECTABLE, which brought to mind the brilliant Suburban Auto Group Trunk Monkey series of ads. See, e.g., https://youtu.be/sTXu-LlkyS8.
🐦 BARBET, CHAT, CHILIA, COCHOA, COMET, CROMBEC, ELEPAIO, IORA, LIOCICHLA, METALTAIL, MOTMOT, PALILA, PAROTIA, PHOEBE, PIHA, PIPIPI, PECHORA PIPIT, RAIL, RHEA, TEAL, COAL TIT, MIOMBO TIT, TOMTIT 🐦🐦 ATTILA, COOT, PARROT, PARROTLET, PITTA
Chimp and Protectable here too! Also improbable and etch.
HECTIC – COMPARABLE
OA here. Lots of fun words found while getting there.
I went back to the puzzle today, after a possible alternate solution came to me. It didn’t pan out, but I did find that LB accepts ‘PROBLEMO.’ This would suggest that there are a lot of other borrowed words (from French, Spanish, etc) that we haven’t even thought of trying.
Well I’d posit that problemo is an American English invention, since it’s not Spanish 😀
huh! didn’t know that. Thanks.
emphatic charbroil
a tendency to overcook
OA very quickly today – a good week. I sense trouble on the horizon…
MICROMORPH-HABITABLE What was that movie where they made people small so they could live better in less space?
Emphatic Corbel
Parochial limitable
BIOMORPHIC – CLEAT
A late addition to Jill’s toolbox, a metaphysical jewel, Microbiota Aleph
