    1. Mathematic Cowboys for me. Countin’ the dogies. The OA is particularly tasty today. An apt follow-on from yesterday’s round table discussion.

    1. Maybe it’s Letter Boxed’s glossary has it listed as an adjective but not a noun (e.g. stomachache remedy). Just spitballing.

    1. *WOMBIEST-THATCHY*
*WOMBIEST good in OED, Merriam-Webster, Scrabble US (TWL) but not LB
*THATCHY good in OED, Scrabble US (TWL) but not LB

    1. A rancher asked one of his buckaroos how many cattle were in a nearby pasture.
The young man answered: well sir, 200.
      Rancher: how’d ya figure?
Buckaroo: counted all the legs and divided by 4 on my cowculator, got 196. Then I rounded em up.

    1. Same here… OA after coming close with Chatbot – Timewise (no Y)

Also found… watches, witches, batches, Behemoths, Timebomb

  1. MATHEMATIC — COWBOYS

I was bummed that I couldn’t add an S to MATHEMATIC, but COWBOYS was right there. Also saw SOMETIME(S), WITCHES, TOASTIES, SOMEWHAT.

  2. CAMBOYS – SWITCHES
Stunned that LB accepted it. It’s not in any Oxford dictionary (OED, ODE or OLD) so it must have been added by Sam. But it’s not in any professional (i.e. not crowd-sourced) dictionary either so what is his basis for adding it? Sorry Sam, Not a Word (yet). 🙂

    1. My solve as well. Honestly, I just went around the square using every letter in front of AMBOYS hoping that one would be accepted and was surprised to see that CAMBOYS was. I’ll take the win.

    2. Per Wiktionary:

A boy or man who publishes webcam photographs or videos of himself.

You can argue with this source, but it is out there,

Over the past few years of playing LB, I have noticed that it is NOT perfectly based on the OED. I have found hundreds of perfectly acceptable words in the OED that LB shouts out “Not a Word.” I have also used words that are not in the OED (usually if they are there, they are hyphenated) that LB says “Genius!” to. I just let LB be LB and go with whatever is accepted/denied. Otherwise, you will drive yourself crazy, and the whole point is to have a little fun every morning, correct?

        1. Not the same, Mark. BOWSIE° comes from the ODE (Oxford Dictionary of English), which I believe is the first (but not the only) component of the Oxford word list. CAMBOY is not in the OED or ODE.

          ° bowsie noun
          Irish a low-class or unruly person .
Oxford Dictionary of English (3 ed.)
          Current Version: 2015

          1. Ah, good. I remember you (or might have been CR, apologies if so) explaining about the different OEDs in play. ✔

  3. Started out with ASTHMATIC COWBOY then tried HEMATITIC which is in OED and on my vitamin container. But no go. Finally figured out Thematic and Cowboys. Thought it would be OA.

    Also COWBOYISH* HEMATITE
