  1. Official answer again. I doubt there’s another two-word answer with this array, but as always. I’ll be happy to be proven wrong.

  2. If anyone missed yesterday’s terrific poem from Jill, marking her triumphant return from apparent NYC-imposed exile, be sure to check it out!

  3. Official answer here, as well. I was convinced it was both official and unique as soon as I spotted it; that was after failing to put together anything with ADJUST, JUSTLY, RIPSAW, STUPIDLY, STRAWY, TRAWLS, PARTLY, ULTRAS, STRAY, STRIP, STRAP, RAPIDLY, or STUDY.

    1. I never got it and gave up, but also found some half-interesting stuff I thought might go somewhere:
      WASP PUTRIDLY (J)
      ADJUST TWIRLY (P)
      DAYTRIPS SAWDUST (JL)
      ADJUST TWIRP (LY)

    1. Hello TK,
In answer to your question yesterday,
My publications are in prose, but this one is about poetry:
      Poems for Architects (2001)

  4. left it unsolved today as well, but it did get me to pull out the dictionary in search of J words and even then I managed to go right past jujitsu. Oh well, holiday habits of too much sugar and alcohol and not enough sleep have apparently caught up with me. Off to check out Jill’s poem of yesterday!!!

  5. Something interesting:
Blocked from posting over the past 10 days, I wrote to NYT puzzle editors repeatedly, asking for help.
I finally received a note back today, letting me know that NYT does not manage this site.
So ‘official’ is really not the right modifier for matching the posted answer . . .

    1. I would be immensely surprised if the NYT WERE actually running this site (with the flaws we’ve enumerated all this time) -if anything, you’d expect something more ‘high-end’ on their part. What’s puzzling is that this site consistently announces what unmistakably proves to be the official solution that the NYT only announces the day after.

        1. I’m not sure how well-kept a secret the official solution is but, to me, it is more of a mystery why you were blocked anyway…

    2. Agreed. I was always surprised that there seemed to be an assumption this was a NYT website. Not to be paranoid, but I created a one use only email address to connect on this site. As pointed out by many others, it’s rather low budget. My best guess is that the daily puzzle has the solution embedded in the code and this site is just reading and publishing it. NYT needs better encryption of its puzzle code.

  6. 3-worder for me today… ADJUST-TWIRLY-YIPS. Channeling my inner Simone Biles today for my workout routine. 🤸🏼‍♀️💫🥇

  7. Official. I was on the verge of quitting when jujitsu finally came to mind. STUPIDLY was my favorite find and the most descriptive of my efforts today.
