  1. I loved the TI of UNSHIP PACKAGES but that pesky W was left out. So, UNSHIP PACKAGES SWAP – might be the plot of a Hallmark Christmas movie.

    1. Haha, I went with UNHIP as the first word in this combo. Not that I’ve ever traded a gift for something I thought was cooler, no siree 🙂

  2. I stopped because I got upset that UNPACKAGE and UNPACKAGES were not accepted as words. Yet PIGWASH is??? Also not accepted: SHAPEN or UNSHAPEN. It seems less of a word challenge and more of a challenge to understand the mind of the puzzle writer—and that’s no fun.

Sincerely, UNPACKAGES – SWISH should have been an acceptable solution.

    1. There was an interview with Sam Ezersky done earlier this year. He said LB uses the OED.

I also got hung up this morning over UNPACKAGE(S) not being accepted, so I checked the OED online. Sure enough, it lists only UNPACKAGED. There’s also unpack/er/ed/ing, but no other form of “unpackage.”

FWIW, Merriam Webster doesn’t include “unpackage” either. Frustrating, but at least there’s something more than the whim of the puzzle maker behind the list of acceptable words in LB.

  3. Wow. I don’t think I’d ever have got to the OA. Or even seen CHICKENHAWK. I *really* tried to make something to work with NUNCHAKUS but no dice!
