Got stuck for a while hoping to do something with OVULATION, then found TRIANGULATION, realized COVET worked with it, saw that TRIANGULATE was shorter, and then my brain switched off before even thinking of TRIANGULAR.
I couldn’t pair ‘triangular’, but found:

Nicely done on the flip-flop. I also like the whittling of convocation–>convention. Sometimes my brain switches off (as DW describes) at the first discovery, immediately distracted by the closest shiny object.
Sometimes I go back and fiddle for a bit if I have a quick solve. Just stumbled on VOLTAIC – CONGRUENCE, which has a nice thematic integrity and would have prevented my hair dryer from exploding in Europe once upon a time.
