Sides of this Letter Box are:
RLCBHAOIPNTU
The answers are:
TRIATHLONNONPUBLIC
PUBIC CHLORINATOR
Public would serve as well, but this time I have catered for the L. 😃
My eyes hurt just trying to imagine it!
Right away once I saw Chlorinator.
Not available on Amazon.
Same but I got hung up on puritanical, botanical, and phobic. I had triathlon and publican but gave up too early.
PUBLICAN NORTH
This is an elegant solution!
same (publican-north)
Me too with PUBLICAN-NORTH
Ditto
PUBLICAN-NORTH for me too. Not sure about TI.
Another PUBLICAN – NORTH here, after finally giving up on CHTHONIC, which I would have been excited to use but couldn’t find a match for.
PUBLICAN NORTH — name of the bar where Santa goes for his postprandial tipple.
One more.
And another. Had to give up on so many other false starts including PATRICIAN, BRONCHIAL, and BILIRUBIN, but got there in the end!
Yes! Took me a while to find PUBLICAN-NORTH but I was delighted with the 13/2 solution.
Same
Lol, yet another PUBLICAN – NORTH, after spending much time trying to complete ~PHOBIC – CURTAIL / ~PHOBIC / CURTAIN. You’d think with all the phobias in the world I could come up with one that contains an “N” OR an “L,” but having to lead into PHOBIA without the I or an O bested me — even when looking at a list of phobias after finding our favored solution for today. Oh well, can’t complain about a 13/2! 😁
I spent way too long on PHONIC/PHOBIC and CURTAIN/CURTAIL as well. 😩😩
Late to LB today but contributing another PUBLICAN-NORTH. Favorite stops along the way were Paraphiliac, Carbolic, and Apricot. . .
Me too
PUBLICAN NORTH worked for me.
Another publican north. I thought would be OA for sure.
PATCHOULI – INBORN. No TI whatsoever, but PATCHOULI is a fun word and I love transitioning on the letter I.
Patchouli inborn 🙂
Nicely done!
I got PATCHOULI INBORN as well. I was so tickled. Looking up the origin of the word patchouli now. Great word, redolent of hippiness and seventies swamis.
Same answer here. Not very satisfying, but at least it’s better than the OA, IMHO.
I’d say Publican North is the pick of the litter today.
Patchouli and Inhibitor. Inhibits close contact maybe? :)))
HUBCAP-PROLACTIN
not exactly Mother’s Milk
PARAPHONIC – CUBITAL
Same!
Bronchitic Catapult
Same here 🙂
BRONCHITIC – CULPA
PATCHOULI – INBORN
Patchouli Inborn as well
Another…
Phonal Lubricator
Although I prefer PG’s pubic chlorinator
I got PHONAL – LUBRICATOR too
Me too
Isn’t this line of work mentioned in Hitchhiker’s Guide?
Summary of my LB hour:
PUBLICAN—NORTH popped out first. Publican sounded Roman-something to me, and looking it up, remembered it as a tax collector.
HUBCAP—PROLACTIN caught my eye, and again, verified on prolactin for it to be a hormone.
PHOTINO—ORBICULAR interested me. A photino is the hypothetical supersymmetric partner of the photon.
OCTOTHORP—PUBLICAN was next, and I never knew octothorp was another name for the hash symbol #.
PHOTONIC—CORBICULA had a ring to it, and seemingly connected to the other solution with the photon. The corbicula is the structure on a bee that collects pollen. I love using Merriam-Webster in parallel with Letter Boxed! 🙂
I ended thoughts with TRIATHLON—NONPUBLIC and ULTRATHIN—NONPUBLIC.
☕☕
patchouli- inborn
Publican and North, after dallying with Platonic, Particular etc.
Interesting puzzle today. Found BRONCHIAL right away, but couldn’t pair it. Nearly made it home with PAROCHIAL–LUBRICANT (it really would have made my day, TI-wise), but on today’s board the N and T cannot join. Couldn’t pair BINOCULAR either.
Ended up settling for PROHIBIT–TRINOCULAR. The second word is PSW but not recognized by LB.
THORP-PUBLICAN
Village pub? I like this one best. (Had to look up thorp)
I got publican-north.
Was surprised briar patch is two words or hyphenated. So many things/places named ‘briarpatch’.
PUBLICAN NORTH here too, happily quickly; saw it suddenly just as I was about to enter a 17/4 solution.
Another PUBLICAN – NORTH
I was disappointed because I found several really good words that used a lot of letters but, alas, nothing to pair. I really really wanted PARTICULAR to work. I liked BUBONIC also. PROTOLITHIC was another exciting find as well. I gave up. Phobic – curtain – nil.
Phonal Lubricator – Usually a glass or two of chardonnay
Puritanical got me absolutely nowhere.
Publican North, a point on the drinking compass.
