EXCHEQUERSSOJOURNED

EXCHEQUERS SOJOURNED…
Bank Holiday.
OA.
Intimidated by JQX on the same side at first. But this solve just took 4 minutes.
Checking on my besties Miss Irim and Kanishk-boy later. 😊
Here, my lovely, see below!
Exactly 🙂OA here too
Super quick OA. Feel like Exchequer was used before. 108/119, 25/29, 3, 36
Exchequers — Sojourned right away
Same. Cant imagine there’s another answer
🙂
Got it surprisingly quickly.
EXCHEQUERS / SOJOURNED
My program only found these (actual Oracle output):
DENJOE—EXCHEQUERS—16
JOCONDE—EXCHEQUERS—17
EXCHEQUERS—SOJOURNED—19
Evidently, Denjoe is a proper name, and joconde is a type of sponge cake which LB does not accept. Therefore,
EXCHEQUERS—SOJOURNED
is a strongly suspected singular solution.
Exchequer sojourned
I got a different puzzle. The letters were: LRC EGK BIH ATN. My answer is BLACKLIGHT TERN .
Absolutely knew I had to get J and Q, J and X, or Q and X in one word. Post conference breakfast, sat down before a meeting with the chaplain and struggled a bit, trying REDUX, CHEQUER, CONQUER, and just as I was about to go in and see K, got EXCHEQUER. SOJOURN was already in my head, so sitting down for a few minutes after my meeting got me the OA: EXCHEQUERS-SOJOURNED. Maybe 25 minutes in all?
Yay, RF (saw you above) and waiting on Kanishk. Good luck, everyone, and happy Hump Day!
Seems you have a very meaningful day Miss Irim. Enjoy the rest of your day. 🤗😊
Happy to see my besties triumphant again! EXCHEQUERS – SOJOURNED here as well in under 5 minutes, quite inefficient for an OA but strongly suspected singular solution.
When I opened the puzzle today, I was taken back – J, Q and X in the same puzzle, with only three vowels?! Was on the verge of giving up immediately but I went “Hey, let’s play this for a few minutes, maybe it’s easier than it looks”. And it was!
Congrats, Irim and RF, good luck to anyone still solving and commiserations to those who didn’t. Happy Hump day to everyone!
Yeah, I really want that edit function – ABACK, not back.
Amen to that! Well done, triumphant triumvirate!
Felt the same way seeing the array for the first time, but decided to give it a shot and got the OA in about a minute or less after throwing in the towel early the last couple of days.
Not a clue’
Exchequers Sojourned
Oa. Found sojourned quickly, exchequers took me a while.
Same. Figured some form of sojourn had to be included. exchequers do not come easily!
Hi. After having found Sojourned, I had to deal with the Q & X. The big clue in locating Exchequers was the CH combo.
Exchequers Sojourned
Mercifully quick OA today
Exchequers Sojourned
I got the OA after trying out Joconde too. But it’s capitalized. It’s the French name for the Mona Lisa, or La Gioconda in Italy. I have often enjoyed Maria Callas’s recording of La Gioconda, the opera.
OA. Exchequers eventually led to sojourned. I enjoyed Rise Stevens in Going My Way and decades later realized she was she source of an acquaintances unusual first name of Resa
Rise Stevens was very good in The Chocolate Soldier too. Speaking of operetta, “The Court of the Exchequer” is the setting for Trial by Jury. Gilbert & Sullivan. !
I got a different puzzle. The letters were: LRC EGK BIH ATN. My answer is BLACKLIGHT TERN .
OA today. Helpful to know some British history & terminology.
OA. Remembered exchequer from last year and was glad I had learned that new word then. Sojourned evolved almost simultaneously.
