    Word Play:
    7-letters…….

    _r_ _ _le

    Hint: It is rain.

I was at the beach. I was seated on a swing and rocking back and forth facing the sea and the far horizon. What a beautiful sight to see the turquoise blue green water. Suddenly, there was a heavenly rain. It felt so good like no other. Today is one hot summer day and I wish for that rain in that moment.

        Hey, SIR DAREDAVEL,

Good job on finding a unique solution. Yay!!! You almost got half of the OA.
        👍🤓

            Very nice unique solutions!

  2. After finding a ton of promising combos, I came back to my found words and realized I already had the OA much earlier. So many good words.

    Also had… [*ARGENTIC ~ COWLICK]
    argentic
    adjective
    ar·gen·tic är-ˈjent-ik
: of, relating to, or containing silver especially when bivalent

    1. Other close ones:
      ( cowlick – geriatric) no N

I’m sure someone (Mark) will find a way to pair… negotiation, renegotiation, contrition, citational, clerical, coalition, coalitioner, regental.

Maybe even… wonkier, cleaner, entrail, trailer, trickier, rational, national

      1. Bruce!, good morning ☕, good find with ARGENTIC*—COWLICK.
A silver-haired Alfalfa, from The Little Rascals? 🙂

I’ll add to your “close calls” with:
        COWLIKE*—EGALITARIAN

I also noticed an anagrammatic pair residing in the OA:
        WICKER—RELEGATION
        WICKER—REGELATION

        1. Thanks Mark! It’s quite frustrating to have your hand slapped when you solve with real words 😂

Nice finds by you too, but that’s par for the course.

    2. ARGENTIC*–COWLICK (also COWLIKE) was my solve too. Since the first word wasn’t recognized by LB, I kept trying to find another solution. Eventually gave up.

  3. WICKER – RELEGATION

One of my ancestors emigrated to America from his small town of basket weavers in Germany. He opened a string of stables in NYC. An early case of Wicker Relegation.

  4. OA but took me quite a while. Not sure how it took me so long. I had WICKER and REGENERATION and GENERATIONAL early on, which was frustratingly close. Had high hopes for WONKIER, GERIATRIC and COWLICK too. Somehow didn’t see RELEGATION until late on.

  5. OA for the third day in a row. Very surprised to see it was, felt like I just cobbled together an easy win after about 10 minutes of searching.

  6. Here is the full list including Scrabble words:

** Don’t look at the list if you haven’t finished solving the puzzle **

(The first number is a count and the second number is the number of letters used)

    1 – 16 wicker / regelation
    2 – 16 wicker / relegation
    3 – 18 kirktown / neoglacial
    4 – 21 kirktown / neoglaciation
    5 – 20 reknown / neoglaciation
    6 – 20 rewoken / neoglaciation
    7 – 15 twocker / regalian
    8 – 17 twocker / regelation
    9 – 17 twocker / relegation

    10 – 19 acknowne* / egalitarian
    11 – 15 argentic* / cowlick
    12 – 15 argentic* / cowlike*
    13 – 18 cowlike* / egalitarian
    14 – 16 cowlike* / ergataner*

  7. I don’t understand this puzzle sometimes. What makes GOATLIKE a more legitimate word than COWLIKE? Why were ARGENTIC (I had it paired with COWLICK) and LEGWEAR not accepted? I found WICKER but I’d gone through so many words…

    I gave up. Oh well.

    1. Good points.

Looking at Davel’s list I was kind of surprised that “Kirktown” was accepted, as usually they seem not to be accepted. But after looking at wikipedia disambiguation I see that “kirktown” is a Scottish way of saying “church town”. I guess. 😎

  8. OA.
Sorry for posting so late. Busy day and took me forever to do this durn thing. But finally got it!
I would say Sweet Dreams 💤
but I know today’s puzzle is already here, plaintively calling to be solved!

  9. Bernie Horowitz

OA, to my amazement. I thought for sure it had to be something better than Wicker Relegation… (“Just put those old baskets down in the basement.“)
