    1. AMAZONS SUBCHRONIC too. Glad I kept at it after finding very little at first. Took me ages to find a solution. SUBCHRONIC was a guess and so was pluralising AMAZON.

      Other interesting words I found:

AMOROUS, CHASM, SUBCHRON, SHAZAM, BRONCHUS, SCHNOZ, RHOMBUS, RHOMBIC, OMNIBUS, MICROZOA, AMBUSH, MICROBUS and MINIBUS.

      1. Really thought I’d come up with a pair for HORIZON(S) or CHORIZO but no such luck. Took forever and a few days before ZIRCONIA appeared to me and I got the OA.

        1. Radioactive Flower

          Sir BILL DUFFIN,

OH, YES!!! IT IS! WOW!!! You got it!
          👍🤓

          PORCELAIN – NESTLED. YAY!!!
          ☢️🌹

      Hey, Mr.DAREDAVEL,

Good job on getting the OA and also for finding a nice unique solution. Yay!!! 👍🤓

      Excellent answer, Cliffy!
OA here. At least it didn’t take long. But I did like CR’s Extreme Surprise Proposal TI! That’s the spirit, CR!

  1. abnormous schizo – 1st word accepted, 2nd word not.
rhizobia acrimonious – 1st word accepted. 2nd word not.

Seriously ? find me a dictionary where acrimonious is not accepted !

    zirconia ambush.

    1. That was my first try too ABNORMOUS – SCHIZO (2nd word not accepted).
      Got AMBUSH but missed ZIRCONIA.
Ended up with SHAZAM – MICROBURIN (second word totally accidental but apparently in keeping with today’s archeological theme [The microburin technique is a special procedure for cutting up lithic blades which yields fragments that can be used in the manufacture of utensils]. Love learning something new!

    1. Has microns and Shazam. Didn’t think to add sub to that even though I tried adding it to pretty much everything else!

    1. That still leaves the U and S, but Choriambus uses everything.

I still have no idea about the definition:

“a foot of four syllables in classical prosody in which the cadence of the trochee is followed by that of the iambus ( – ˘ ˘ – ) the corresponding pattern of cadence in accentual prosody (ó o o ó) consisting of the combination of trochee and iambus in succession.”

      I don’t think I’d know one if I saw one! 😉

        1. PS – the Spelling Bee 🐝 for April 24 2024 didn’t accept high point words like:
          APRIORITY
          PROPITIATORY and
          PROPRIATORY

PROPRIATORY is obsolete as a noun, but the OED says that as an adjective that PROPRIATORY has been increasingly used since about 1920.

  2. Sometimes you don’t get the intended answer but you do get some interesting name ideas for an imaginary indie band. Ladies and gentlemen please welcome to the stage “A CHORIZO OMNIBUS”

  3. ZIRCONIA-AMBUSH

I had zircon and ambush early on but didn’t see a way to mate them. Went off to work much too long on horizons then came back to zircon and saw I could tack an ia onto the end for a solution.

  5. My solution for the Letter Boxed game on Saturday, April 27, 2024 is “BUMF FLARING GALAXY”.

I will be working towards creating a two-word solution in the future.
