  1. An instant OA here – JUSTIFY was the first word that came to mind after seeing the grid. The last three puzzles have been really easy for me!

RF and Irim, awaiting your solutions, and happy Thursday to all!

    1. Radioactive Flower

Kanishk-boy here I come with FJORDS – STUDYING almost instantaneously.

      Waiting for Miss Irim later…🤗

      1. Took me a bit and had two solutions at once. After finding a whole bunch of words it became apparent that the J and the F in the same word would likely lead to a solution. Did Fjords occur to me? Nope. Sure didn’t. But I got JUSTIFYING and the OA along with it, but also found a truly disgusting solution… JUSTIFYING-GRODY (to the max!) Taking it back to the 80’s. 92/99, 8/9, 4, 36

        1. JUSTIFYING-GRODY here too. Started with JOUSTING-GRODY which missed the F, wondered if JOUSTIFYING could be a word, and then it hit me.

    2. Hey, lovelies, just back from morning prayer and I saw JUSTIFY immediately, thought ‘oh no’ because I’m so used to Sam screwing up ING for us, then realised it was there.

So JUSTIFYING-GOURD immediately, but so envious of RF and Mark who both got fjords in their answer.

Congrats & high fives, besties, and best of luck to all attempting. Good grid, should be quite a few answers I think! Happy Thursday, everyone!

        1. RF, I’m so sorry, I think I made this one too hard (just checked with Alice Liang’s solver, and it appears singular) – I’ll keep the difficulty lower going forward!

The OA is: FRABJOUS – SLICK

  2. Catherine Gardiner

    Justifying & Gourd

I saw justifying immediately. But it took a few minutes to find gourd. I should have seen it very quickly because I use them once a year for my Thanksgiving centre piece.

  3. Got the OA quickly, then JUDOISTS STORIFYING shortly afterward.

Played around with other accepted words. NONJURY, NONINJURIOUS, and JOUSTING.

Also tried TORIFY (OED) which is not TORRIFY, meaning to parch, but an old term for turning Tory. Byron used it in 1814. Today TORIFYING is used by techies referring to forcing data thru the Tor Network.
