Fast OA, Happy Easter🐰‼️
Same. Not immediately. Kept trying to make pharmacy work
There have been 6 singular-solution OAs in the last 12 days. Back when I started playing this game in July 2025, there used to be no more than 4 one-offs in a month on average. Where has this game headed off to?
I failed today. This wasted one hour of my time. I was ecstatic to find POLYCHROME, which left out only three letters, but to no avail – HYDROMEL, HERALDRY, ROLEPLAY, PLACECARD and PRECOMA were some of the ones which I felt would be part of a valid solution.
RF and Irim, awaiting your answers – good luck to everyone solving and happy Sunday to all.
Yes to POLYCHROME Kanishk-boy, I saw it too, thought it will lead me to a solve. Too bad I gave up on APOPLEXY because I found it. No matter how many times I came back to it, I just can’t see DRACHMA. But, well, I spent more time on POLYCHROME. Arghhhh…
Will Miss Irim find today’s OA? Will find out later…😉
Had hopes for POLYCHROME too, as well as CAMELEOPARD and a few others. I’ve gotten to where I bail pretty early these days if it’s looking bleak. It’s not much fun going around in circles thinking about how much time you’re wasting, rather than getting any closer to figuring out the actual puzzle.

GRADIENT – TYPEFACE.
Well done, RF!!! Good job. 👏 👍
You got the OA! 🎊
GRADIENT – TYPEFACE
Failed today. Polychrome was as close as I got.
*Groan* another singular solution needing specialized knowledge. Tried hard to get POLYCHROME to work, had APOPLEXY in mind but dismissed it. Even if i had tried it, dont think i would reach DRACHMA – although i know the word, it was last used in the early 2000s (20+ years ago!) and wouldnt have thought they’d use (obsolete) currencies here.
Struggled with POLYCHROME went with
XEROMORPH* HYDROCEPHALY
* OED MW
I initially tried Drachm which was a mistake because Drachm is more outdated than Drachma. Apoplexy has 2 definitions. It is an outdated medical term and also means intense, almost uncontrollable rage which is what many on this site have expressed about solutions, often singular, that include obscure and outdated words.
The puzzle appeared promising with its plethora prefixes but most were dead ends. I was hoping that Chemoprophylaxic was word, but it isn’t.
Apoplexy, no matter which definition you use seems entirely inappropriate for a holy day.
I see your point. Thematically, I was envisioning an exploding ancient coin, leaning on the “rupture” connotation of “apoplexy”, as in hemorrhage → vessel rupture. Perhaps a bit of stretch. ☕
Like most others I found POLYCHROME first but could not pair it. Threw in DRACHMA without really realizing it and then found the OA by surprise. Go figure. I’ve decided to put a time limit on these nowadays. Definitely constrained puzzles as of late, but hey, I’m still learning new words!
