    1. Yes! Five-Exorbitance. OA adjacent. This puzzle was right in the sweet spot. Plenty of words to be found, but the solution eluded me for a good 45 minutes. I like having to work for it a little bit but not struggle with it all day. 87/94, 4/4, 11, 36

      1. Struggle with it all day? Like when someone I know spots ALCOHOLIC and WORK in the morning but doesn’t put the two together as WORKAHOLIC until ten that night? You mean that kind of struggling all day?

  1. FIVE – EXORBITANCE after almost an hour. I wonder how I didn’t see EXORBITANT instantly – EXACERBATION on the other hand eluded me completely!

Found lots of great words which I was unable to connect – BOXCAR, INFINITIVE, CARBONATE, EXOTICA, EXTRA, INTERFACE, VEXATION, VIBRANT, CARBONARA, CARBONFIBRE, INFERNO, ACROBATIC, CONFRONT, CONVERT and CONVEX, to name few.

Waiting for my besties to comment. Happy weekend to all, good luck to those who solve and commiserations to those who didn’t.

    1. Radioactive Flower

Failed today! Hope Miss Irim don’t have the same fate as me. But well Miss Irim rarely fails.

    2. Hello, loves, sorry I’m late, but lazy Saturday, as you know!

Immediate OA – I was stunned; I didn’t expect that to work. Well done, Kanishk; exorbitance is a great word!

Working my way through Devanagari – the vocabulary is familiar of course, and the letters are slowly becoming less of a maze. I love it when they have me put letters together – e.g., ‘kal’ and I’m like ‘yesterday or tomorrow?’

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone, and Happy Easter to all who celebrate. I’m going to grab a Cadbury Creme Egg before they disappear! Good luck to all attempting, congrats to those who solve, commiserations to those who don’t.

      1. Same here, after going through VIBRATOR and VIBRATION, and wanting to use an F instead of a B. BOXER-REVIVIFICATION (smelling salts?) is a bit more efficient.

    3. Ooh, nice K. You had some I definitely didn’t see. Perhaps my mind was elsewhere as I did locate Vibrator, Excitation (and Excitative) and Fornicate/Fornicator. Either way, glad there was a happy ending…

  2. OA

*OED and “Literally, the Best Language Book Ever:Annoying Words and Abused Phrases You Should Never Use Again.”
    **MW, Scrabble

LB really needs to update its acceptable word list.

    1. Forgot to mention… The book LITERALLY etc was written by Paul Yeager, 2008. Penguin. Worth a read. All your pet peeves in one volume. Well, most of them. I could add a few.
