Sides of this Letter Box are:
UTNOYQEXVARG
The answers are:
VAQUEROOXYGENATE

I saw this grid and thought I’d be here for hours, but no. Saw OXYGENATE immediately, then Spanish class kicked in (Thank you Sra Ballesteros and Sra Gatti!) and I saw VAQUERO. *cackles*
RF and Kanishk, hope to see you soonest, lovelies!
Good luck, all, and happy Hump Day
Same – the EX juxtaposition really intimidated me, but thankfully spotted OXYGENATE in under a minute. VAQUERO was a complete shot in the dark, I’ve never heard of it before. So OA in 5 minutes
Well done, Irim! RF, can’t wait to see you soon. Happy Hump Day!
High five, dost! How did the exams go?!
A vaquero is a cattle rancher, one who preceded and is the inspiration for the American cowboy. ‘Vaca’ means ‘cow’.
Also, congrats to us as the first two here 🥳 – still practising Duolingo Hindi and will probably drop some questions in about word order, because sometimes I pop things in as I’ve heard them and they’re technically wrong.
Yay, us! See you soon, RF!
OA here too, but took longer than it probably should have, thinking that with having OXYGENATE and REOXYGENATE there must be a more common word than VAQUERO that would fit. Finally stuck it in as a guess, having seen it but didn’t think there was much chance of it being accepted.
OA and essentially the same process
Irim, exams have just started and will continue until around mid-October. I had my English exam yesterday, and it went pretty well!
Thank you for the etymology lesson – I’ve added VAQUERO to my vocabulary. I just love learning new words. that’s the fun of Letter Boxed, no matter how frustrating it can be at times.
Congrats, Irim – and RF, better luck next time!
And don’t hesitate to ask me about any doubts you come across while practicing Hindi – I’ll be more than happy to help.
Fail here. But, my consolation is that, mostly, I only fail when I’m not familiar with the word in the OA like today. Also spotted OXYGENATE and its variants early on, but I just can’t invent VAQUERO from the leftovers. Gave up because I was so annoyed with the V (nothing much can be done with it).
Amazing job besties Miss Irim and Kanishk-boy. I hope to be back on track tomorrow. But I hope it’s not too easy (or too difficult).
VAQUERO / OXYGENATE
Pretty fast solve, today.
Had Vaquero for a while before I saw Oxygenate. Probably should have solved it faster considering how few options there were. Also late entry from yesterday – Farl – Lymphocyte.
OA after first trying OXYGENATOR AND REOXYGENATE, thinking second word would start with an E or R or end in R.
OA.
OA after playing with REOXYGENATE
OA pretty quick. I would have gotten it sooner but I was sure vaquero had a C in it. I guess I was thinking of Brenda Vaccaro. 🙂
Vaquero oxygenate within 60 seconds. Lucky today.
Vaquero Oxygenate took some time.
OA Same process/
OA. Where’s that guy who always posts lists of answers? Was this the only answer?
Only see the variant VAQUERO OXYGENATOR
Found Oxygenate very quickly. But missed Vaquero because I am not very familiar with Spanish words. I might do better with French words.
I found vaquero first and oxy was right there to follow. Some while back the answer included a word almost no one got- avoirdupois – that might come easier to French speakers
It all took some time and juggling, especially getting the correct spelling of vaquero.
Vaquero Oxygenate
