The really fun part of LB is discovering words you didn’t know, learning them from an OA, and then using them in future puzzles- I failed miserably the last time TZATZIKI appeared in an OA, because I had never seen that word before-but spotted it almost instantly this time.
OA after trying to work out something with QUARTZ and QUIRKING. I believe we’ve had INQUIRINGLY very recently.
Alice Liang’s says singular – not a surprise with Z,Q and K in the same puzzle!
Irim and RF, can’t wait to see you soonest – RF, missed you yesterday, hope you’re enjoying the festivities! Happy Thursday to everyone.
OA.
TZATZIKI appeared Nov 5 2025, linked to another Q word, CONQUEST, then.
Kanishk, you can find words from old puzzles in the Filter below, something pointed out by Mark.
Thanks, Steph! I already knew about the filter- It’s a very convenient tool.
OA for me today and I won’t ever get TZATZIKI if I haven’t seen it from a previous puzzle before.
I got BRONCHIAL – LAWNMOWER yesterday.
Kanishk-boy, it was a hectic day for me yesterday. But I had fun. I also reconnected with two old friends over dinner.
Congrats to us, Kanishk-boy. I agree with your sentiments about today’s puzzle. Let’s wait for Miss Irim to complete the triumvirate. 🤗
Yay, you’re here!! See below, I was here 15 minutes before you, just didn’t comment on Steph’s thread. The triumvirate is triumphant, well done, loves!
Kanishk, good luck on that final exam tomorrow. And RF, so glad you are having fun and reconnecting.
Till tomorrow! xx
Hi, lovely, so good to see you! Had to lead morning prayer, had a Zoom call, AND we have a training group in, so only got to this on and off from about 9, so can’t really guess how long it took – half an hour, maybe? I was obsessed with GLITZY, so SURE that was part of the solution, so I kept trying to force QUARKING. QUARTZ(Y), QUIRKING, tried all those.
Had seen INQUIRING, but dismissed it – didn’t seem to use enough letters.
Finally saw TZATZIKI and then it was obvious. Phew – not surprised ‘let’s use all the high value Scrabble tiles AND eliminate QUANTIZING, TRANQUILIZING, etc.’ is a singular solution.
C’mon, RF, hope to see you soon and good luck, all. Happy Thursday!
OA relatively quickly. I always check Alice after I solve, Kanishk, and today it said no two-word solutions found. Did you see the OA there earlier? That would be very interesting … 🤔
OA here as well, but was definitely a bit of a struggle. Little under an hour. Happy to have some small victory to celebrate after watching my Yankees season end last night.
You’re right, DW- I was mistaken. Alice does say ‘no two-word solutions found’, I just assumed the OA was singular.
Glad I didn’t waste much time on this one… I remember seeing it now in another solution. I can understand constructing a puzzle where there are multiple possibilities to solve it, and running across obscure words to tuck away in your vocabulary is part of the fun of playing, but these puzzles with singular solutions where only word game fanatics are going to recognize the OA get to be a bit much.
I hear you – I just happen to love Tzatziki with vegetables and pita bread, but I still went round the houses to get there.
OA, and agreed.
OA today

I bombed out today because I was spelling tzatziki wrong. I ended up with a less appetizing solution:
QUALITIZING* GURKY**
*Artificial Intelligence in Real-Time 1993, a computer engineering term
*Wright’s Dictionary of English Dialect 1899 — rough, ill-mannered, clumsy
Tzatziki inquiringly . Glad we’ve had that one before. I knew I had it when I put in inquiringly but I still had to look up the spelling.
I remembered tzatziki because raw cucumbers are one of the worst tasting foods in the world.imo.
Cooked ones are even worse 🙂
Haha ,I can imagine!
