I just clicked on here by mistake looking for today’s puzzle, and stumbled onto the OA. I can’t imagine anyone getting this one without using outside sources… Glad I didn’t waste time on it. I might take a look at it later to see if I come up with some kind of solution using words that actual human beings use.

After seeing the OA by mistake, I was going to try and look at the original puzzle and see if there was a better answer using more common words, but before I even got there I was wondering if POLYMORPHIC would work… Then I stumbled across here again and saw your answer before I even got to today’s official puzzle… But I’m pretty sure if I had typed in POLYMORPHIC and seen the C-W-D-S left over I would have gotten CROWDS. I’m calling it a solve, still glad I didn’t waste more time on this one.
