        1. Add me to the Backwards-Shipway club, even though the OA is far more common usage. 132/144, 23/24, 22, 36

      1. WARDSHIPS – SWAYBACK, here.
Had Drawback, Backwards, and all but can’t believe I never saw BackYARD or ShipYARD.

  1. BACKYARDS-SHIPWAY here immediately.

Good afternoon to Kanishk and RF, looking forward to seeing you both here very soon with your solutions.

Good luck, everyone, and happy Sunday!

    1. Radioactive Flower

WARDSHIP – PAYBACK. In 6 minutes.

Come on here already Kanishk-boy to complete the triumvirate. 🤗

      1. Well done, Irim and RF! Glad to see my two besties already here.

I got the same answer as you again, Irim – great minds! BACKYARDS – SHIPWAY here, albeit not instantly – I spotted BACKWARDS first and was determined to make it work to no avail. Then switched to BACKYARDS and got the solution after 15 minutes.

Love your solution, RF, I had a look at Alice Liang’s solver and believe it’s the most efficient solution that can be found with today’s letters.

The triumvirate is complete! Good luck and happy Sunday to everyone.

  2. Hardships swayback
    backways* shipyard
    wardship-payback

*in OED, but usage not recognized after 16th century; oddly, the word doesn’t seem so obscure to me

    1. Catherine Gardiner

Hi KP. If I drive from Point A to Point B using the rural roads, we use the term, Backway.

  3. Catherine Gardiner

    Wardships & Sickbay
I quickly found the compound word, Backyards. But decided to ignore it because I used it two or three months ago. I cannot remember if it was one of the two OA words.

  4. The old WARSHIP drifted quietly beyond the SHIPYARDS while a salty WHIPBIRD circled overhead. On the dock, a weary CARDSHARP sipped PIRIPIRI rum and warned the harbor children that the DARKISH AIRWAYS and AWRY tides always return before a great storm.

    BACKYARDS—SHIPWAY
    WARDSHIPS—SICKBAY

  5. WHIDAHS SPRAYBACK*
*”the accidental backward splashing of contaminated bodily fluids or flushed solutions onto medical personnel.” Per Google. Often hyphenated.

  6. Samuel Hanwich

BACKWARDS SHIPYARD here. Saw DRAWBACK and BACKYARDS too, but didn’t spend any time trying to hook them up after I saw an answer.
