  1. 5.10.23 : DIU—GER—AWP—LHZ
    Pairs: WH(A)UP—PLAGIARIZED

    Atoms: LEAD ₈₂Pb
    Greek: ALPHA α A, PHI φ Φ
    Hebrew: ALEPH ℵ
    Animals: EAGLE, GAZELLE*, LIZARD, WHALE
Character: WILD HAIR DEADHEAD GIRL 🙂

  2. I spotted the OA first, but decided to go with WHAUP – PLAGIARIZED to keep with the bird theme and to honour my Scottish heritage.

🐦 WHAUP, RAIL, EAGLE, PIPIPI 🐦🐦 GULL, PEWEE

  3. WHUP-PLAGIARIZED
Pleased to have found this, though I need to go and find out what a whup is. Shocking they did not allow WURZEL – definitely a word, in my book! WHIRLIGIG was a good find. Also LAUGHED. Also, I have recently discovered DIGITS, so now losing even more time in my day solving puzzles. 🤦🏽‍♀️

  4. Official here, too. Other finds: WHALE, WIZARD, LIZARD, LAUGH(ED), HARD, GUARD(RAIL), WHILED, PLURALIZE(D), WEIGHED.
LBF score: 13 (8/12 letters guessed correctly). A new one:
    EBK DOU CHS FLA
    next.

  5. Got to plagiarized early, but whup didn’t sound right, but then isn’t that often the case with LB words, so I tried it.

    1. Yup on whup. I was so surprised I had to look it up. Somehow I was more disappointed than pleased when I read the definition… Really? Oh well, happy to be done “early” – don’t laugh all your early birds 🙂

  6. Whup Plagiarized.
Started with obvious wizard but that left too much. Went with -ize words first plagiarize then added d. Finished off the left over letters.

  7. Like most folks here, it seems, kind of surprised to find WHUP part of the official answer. Still, it just goes to show that one really needs to try any word that might work—even if it seems unlikely or even absurd.

  8. An awful go for me. Thought i had cracked with PLURALIZED but no match could i find Would not accept depluralized to my annoyance. Kept working for naught. Dismissed plagiarize early because I misspelled it in my head -ger- think i will go back to bed in shame

  9. Bernie Horowitz

Reluctantly gave up on Plague/Plagued and Lizard and Wizard and Whirligig (my fave) and caved to the inevitability of the charmless OA. TI notably lacking of late, after a run of reverberant OAs. Throw in the senseless redesign and I’m a bit sour on LB and its overlords at present. I’ll get over it.
