      1. At first glance, I was ready to give up but was able to get a pretty good word list before coming to this conclusion 😛

EXPERTLY EXPLORER EXPLORABLE EXPLORATIVE LAXATIVE RELATIVELY RELAXATIVE VITALITY VOLATILE

  1. VERITABLE-EPOXY for me. I remember EPOXY from Wordle aeons ago and the row it caused, even making an appearance on BBC Radio 4’s morning news programme. The whole country basically collapsed (but we stuck it back together again with epoxy resin…).

Or BARE Exploitatively, better for the Triple-X TI.
Also found Bye Extrapolative, Bye Explorative, Taxable Evaporatively. Decided to call it a day.

    2. BORE – EXPLOITATIVELY here as well. I had several professors who would do that, taking advantage of a captive audience to drone on and on.

🐦 PIPIT, PIPIPI, TIT, ORIOLE 🐦🐦 TREE PIPIT, TIT-BABBLER, TATTLER

  2. I got both: Bye Extrapolative And Bye Explorative.
These are two effective techniques for precipitating more efficient conversations.
    1. Knowing a conversation will end; why not just start it there?
    2. Attempting to end a conversation at every possible lull, will bring it to a speedier and more satisfactory conclusion.

  3. Exploitative and Every, after Evaporative and Exorable (the latter word not a word, apparently. ) Brit/Aussie v US usage.
At least this go around was quick and painless. 😊

You are right, of course. It can completely hijack one’s time and attention. I made the mistake of taking a (discount) subscription to Spelling Bee so I could play through to the bitter end. Talk about a time sinkhole! Exceeded in that respect only by the NYT Sunday crossword. And I don’t even LIKE crosswords! Yet I am compelled somehow.
          OCD much?

          1. I’m completely with ya on this one! i was completely happy playing the free games. My sister threatened to gift me the subscription. I begged her not to, knowing full well it would ruin my life. Alas… I’m clear that I’ve got an addiction. I’m trying very hard to set time limits and just let it go. Works sometimes… sometimes not so much.

To Brian T: I don’t hesitate to use the data at the SB “Community” tab (number of words beginning with each letter, number of letters in each such word, first two letters in each set of words, etc). In a pinch I even allow myself to consult the WordHippo website to find those last missing answers (“six-letter words starting with MO including T and excluding S”, or whatever). Jolly helpful it is, too!

    1. VIE-EXPORTABILITY for me too. So close to a one-word answer! Just couldn’t fit the “v” in there.

  4. For what it’s worth: OVEREXPLOITABILITY would cover the whole grid. Only, it’s not a word, evidently.

  5. Got the OA again today. First hoped Veritably could lead to a 13/2, but the remaining pox led me right to Epoxy.

  6. BYE EXPLORATIVE. Saw Epoxy and Proxy right away, got this answer next, so it was very fast; I didn’t expect this to be the Official Answer and am not surprised to see other great replies here.

Had to look up Eyebar! (I thought it probably had to do with bird markings, but of course that wasn’t the case at all.) Always happy to pad the vocab, so thanks, Silas!
