  1. HARBORING-GATEWAY
Wow first comment 🙌🏻 Solution came to me mercifully quickly 😁 First came up with BORING-GATEWAY and just needed the H and now I’m done for the day 🤣

  2. OA has TI. 👌🏻
    Maybe they’ll getaway to the:
    HARBORING—GATEWAY
    🌉🚢

    Some anadromes for today ↕️
    NORTHING | THRONING
    ENROBING | RINGBONE
    RINGING | GIRNING
    RAINING | INGRAIN
    HAIRNET | INEARTH
    TEARING | INGRATE

    ☕☕

    1. GATEWAY | GETAWAY | WAYGATE
      BORING | ORBING | ROBING
      ENGRAIN | NEARING
      IGNOTE | TOEING
      WORTH | WROTH
      GRAINY | RAYING
      ROWET | WROTE
      EARTHY | HEARTY
      GROWN | WRONG
      ENGINE | INGENE
      ARGENT | GARNET
      NONET | TENON
      TAROT | TORTA
      ROYT | TROY

Anadromes abound, more than I expected.

  3. OA. and another, weirder one purely out of luck (and exasperation): BENGA-AIRWORTHY. Still miffed BINGEWORTHY is not accepted

    1. It’s a matter of time until BINGEWORTHY becomes a PSW. It’s in regular use already. BINGEWORTHY – YAWN has a nice self-contradictory TI.

      1. Mine too. I asked my wife if she thought it would be the official answer and she emphatically rejected the possibility. Looks like she was right.

        1. I haven’t looked at SB in awhile but will do so again. I used to try to put in the biggest word possible, so that the free version would block me after just one move. That didn’t happen all that often, but I interpreted it as a success when it did. I’ll look for your pangram, for fun.

The program I wrote for LB can be easily adapted to SB, and to a certain extent, Words With Friends (WWF) as well.

        2. I haven’t, actually, but I can see where it’d be a kinder alternative to meaner descriptions. Has a British note to it.

          1. As a fan of Ngaio Marsh novels,
I can report that she uses the word often and extremely effectively.

    1. Man, I tried to pair something with THROWAWAY for awhile and couldn’t make it work. Brilliant finding BEIGNET! I ended up with the aforementioned HARBORING – GATEWAY after getting stuck on a few other dead ends first.

  4. Me too. Thingy is pretty marginal. But I have met a lot of thingies, many of whom I’ve wanted to browbeat.

  5. Browbeat Thingy

Thought i had found the solutions twice – had noteworthy and betraying and i thought i found matching words for both but not quite.

  6. Bernie Horowitz

Popular favorites Harboring Getaway / Gateway and Browbeat Thingy. But I give credit to the OA – Betrothing is itself Not Unlovely (see SB, but with litotes!), and the pairing with Getawsy is inspired TI. Where’s my trousseau?

  7. Hi all! Been a while since I’ve gotten to Letterboxed. Got Browbeat – Thingy first as others did, but woke up in the middle of the night and found:
    ROBINIA – AGEWORTHY
