  1. LUMINOUS – STINGRAY
Lots of folks lurking in this array!
Not only agronomists, but monogamists, monologuists, and even ignoramus(es).
I’m looking forward to seeing what promises to be a boatload of fun solutions.

    1. Great going, Jill; you kicked off proceedings superbly with this one (steered clear of prefixes and suffixes, too)! All sorts of imaginative solutions are already coming through thick and fast!

  2. GYRATIONS – SLUM 13/2. I was lured into it despite trying to avoid all the available prefixes and suffixes (ANTI-, OUT-, MULTI-, INTRA-, -ATION, -ING, -LY). Also considered MIGRANTS, MIGRATION (mystified as to why plural was also accepted), SULTAN, SULTRY, MOATING, ORGANS, SIMUL, and MULTIGYM.

      1. Thanks, I aim to please.
Though, I have been trying to tastefully leave no comment on this one; I must admit that the agronomists’ sultry gyrations have been very suggestive toward desired solutions.
        Actually,
        Ignoramus strongly
Is a good 2 word self descriptor.

    1. Also Taming Gloriously, although Mating works better thematically! Wink wink nudge nudge say no more!
My best effort was Sumi Ignorantly.
Also on offer: Gantry, Mousing, Gnarly, Statuary, Gloaming, Antimony, Sugary, Outgoing, Solution(s, Antagonising, Agonising, Imagination.

      1. Also Rati Ignominiously. Not clear what Rati means in this case, presumably something other than the Hindu goddess.
Ignominy and Ignominious were also in the mix but couldn’t be paired, at least by me.

  3. I see Bernie got it too. I am not the only one with dirty mind 😀
I expect a lot solutions. Can anyone make inglorious work?

    1. For the bridge players in the crowd, INGLORIOUS – STAYMAN. Of course, the puzzle does not accept that (and it shouldn’t, given that Stayman is a proper name).

  4. I was so happy to kill so many letters with the word “TRAUMATISATION”, but thereafter … In Germany we say that was a “hard nut to crack”. I scrambled my way out with “NAYS” and “SLOG”. Working on my vocabulary seems to me like a never ending task, unable to date to solve this game with only 2 words.

  5. TATAMI – INGLORIOUSLY Clumsy positioning on a mat. I was hoping someone had a creative pairing for MISOGYNIST(s), which seemed promising.

  6. MOGULS STATIONARY here. Lots of great long words but 2 word pairs left out one letter or (e.g. Mortuary + Singly) couldn’t connect. I knew you people would find other excellent answers and you sure did!

  7. One worder: GLORYSUITMAN
    (kidding, not accepted)

I did get SUMOS – STARINGLY.

Found out above that MOUS would have worked.

Was staringly at GASTRONOMY for a long while — missed LUGING.

  8. “Gyrations-Slum” in just over 5 minutes vs. yesterday’s hour plus without getting two workable words despite finding “monochromat” and “blockchain.”(I like today better.)
