    1. Love this. Fortunately I did damp January (yes, it’s a thing) so hoping to avoid the Feb explosion. I came up with the less efficient EXPLAINED – DARTBOARD.

  1. OA immediately. It’s nice to get a very easy one once in a while—not all the time. But every now and again it’s cool 😎

  2. PIXILATED—DRAINBOARD

I’m glad I double checked this one. I was starting to envision a theme with a “pixelated drainboard”, which would probably not direct the flow of water as intended. 🙂 There was a drainboard in our house, in the laundry room, as part of a sink, next to the washing machine.

    From Merriam-Webster:
    “Is it pixelated or pixilated?
Pixelated is used to describe digital images in which individual pixels are discernable, as when you look closely at a large photo and can see the tiny dots that make up the image. Pixilated (coined from pixie, a pixie being a cheerful, mischievous sprite) is usually used to describe things considered whimsical, or people who seem dazed or lost in thought. While pixelated is a late 20th century coinage, pixilated has been in use since the mid-19th century.”

    1. Congrats on finding drainboard. I could not quite get there and settled for
      PIXILATED DEBTOR RAN
      which is a fun image.

    1. Well, you beat me to it while I was reading about the Red Baron (WWI German ace). He actually flew a triplane. So when they delivered your plane to my answer’s TI, the doors were fine but apparently it was missing a set of wings. Snoopy was still mad though.

    1. I got this too, but I don’t know the word Borate as a word until just now. I was just throwing letters in front of explained that ended in E.
I tried the same thing with what was left with exported, and then switched.
Adding debtor to the end is a lot better, but I still win.

  3. Found a bunch today, including the OA and the popular Biplane Exported / Extorted, plus Airborne Explodent (which goes nicely with those Biplane answers), Pinboard Dextral, Explorator Rainbird, and Explant Tailboard / Tailorbird.
    But Pixilated is excellent!

  4. 0A. I haven’t been able to look at the grid without feeling the worst sort of dyslexia in a few days. So it’s nice to get the OA after all this.

  5. EXPROPRIATED – DEPLANED – DEB
Counts for nothing but I can see this scene playing out on the tarmac. The FBI is involved.

  6. Okay, for some obscure reason I entered the letters “PLAINED” before I thought of “EXPLAINED” and to my surprise LB accepted “PLAINED”. Turns out it’s a real word.
Then “DEBTOR” was an easy add-on. That left R and X. I tried “RAX” and surprisingly LB took it too – turns out RAX is in the dictionary also.
    So PLAINED DEBTOR RAX
    After all that I realized
    EXPLAINED DEBTOR the OA
    Also got:
BIPLANE EXPROPRIATED which might be something the Smithsonian Museum did to the Wright Brothers, but probably not.

    1. Nice triple. When I searched for and substituted synonyms for the first and third words, it transforms, meaning-wise, as:
      complained debtor stretch

  7. Here is the full list including Scrabble words:

    1. Dave, it might be nice to have your list grouped and sorted, if possible. That’s how I do mine internally. Output easier to comprehend in one glance:
      13s A
      13s B
      ..
      14s A
      ..
      ..

  8. Got the very inefficient EXPLAINED – DARTBOARD first, then took a second dip and came up with AIRBORNE – EXPLANTED. Not particularly efficient either, but ALIOW! 😂
