  1. OA – At this point I feel that I’ve been conditioned to find wombat, but I was glad to see it just the same. Apparently, their scope of expertise is digging big holes and pooping cubes… Learning is fun!

          1. Same here, had one letter left (or 3w) with Probative, or Abortive, was about to settle for Wombat Trip Purview when I tried Purview as 1st word and found the OA.

  2. PURVIEW – WOMBAT
    Just started and I’m done. Hope I can use the extra time wisely.

    Very little falls within the purview of a wombat, though they might think otherwise.

  3. My beloved Wombat! And right after his cousin the Numbat! It’s a marsupial family reunion. Naturally it took me no time at all to find the OA. Nice to think it’s a tribute to yours truly, but like life, it’s surely purely random.

    1. Indeed! Marsupials aplenty. Less so for birds … 🐦 BARBET, IORA, MAO, OMAO, PIPIPI, PIPIT, TIT, TWITE 🐦🐦 IIWI, PEWEE, PITTA.

    2. A marsupial, its purview down under,
      Of her kingdom she is a defender;
      Marking landscape discreetly,
      Six sided*, uniquely!
      Down under, the wombat’s a wonder.

  4. Is there a word or phrase for when the solution uses each letter only once (with the exception of the overlapping letter)? I find it especially satisfying.

    1. All I’ve seen when any solution accomplishes this maximum efficiency, whether the official answer or not, is calling it a 13/2. (thirteen letters/two words). So today is a 13/2!

  5. OA, and surprisingly (for me) it didn’t take long. I spent more time trying to find another solution, and really wanted to use amputate but…
    Two words I’ve been dying to find in Letterboxed are AZIMUTH and ARBITER. I keep looking for them but no luck.

  6. Saw Wombat right off the bat but couldn’t see purview…as a matter of fact I didn’t even see view because if I had… sigh…

    1. Tried a lot of options like writeup, upbeat, browbeat, primitive, cbortive, private etc. before finding the OA…would have loved to find a match to imprimatur/a..alas, was not to be.
